Drake has just announced the he’s been tapped to host the first-ever NBA Awards.
The inaugural NBA Awards on TNT will take place on Monday, June 26, at Basketball City at New York City’s Pier 36 at 9 p.m. ET, and will honor the league’s top performing players. While some categories will be added and voted on by fans, other award categories include Kia NBA Most Valuable Player, Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, Kia NBA Sixth Man Award, Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Kia NBA Most Improved Player and NBA Coach of the Year. Obviously, Drake is a big fan of the NBA, attending games, name-dropping popular players on his songs, and hanging out with athletes. He also hosted the 2014 ESPYs, so his new hosting gig is especially fitting. Jeremih has released the video for his single “I Think of You” featuring Chris Brown and Big Sean. In the video, Jeremih, Chris Brown, and Big Sean all try to catch the attention of a woman who doesn’t seem interested. They each step up to the plate to talk to her—Jeremih tries and fails first. Chris Brown steps up next with his signature dance moves that remind you of his video, “Yo.” Big Sean is the last in the crew to try and win the woman over, but he too, is unsuccessful. The video takes on an old school aesthetic as they wear matching windbreakers that are reminiscent of a 90s r&b group. In an interview with Billboard, Jeremih explained how he came up with the song. “I was in the studio with Yung Berg,” he explained. “We were working on a couple of records, just shooting out beats and he was like, ‘Go young Mike (Michael Jackson) on ‘em! I dropped a couple of verses on ‘I Think of You.’ Berg ended up hitting me one day like, ‘I’m in here with Chris Brown. Do you mind if he gets on it?’ So I was thinking if there’s anyone who should be on it, it should be him. For R&B, it’d be dope. We completed it but then we played it for Big Sean then he blessed it with a verse.” The song is on Jeremih’s new album, Later That Night, which is the last installment of his Late Nights trilogy. Check out the video above. Today“Who We Are,”was just released from legendary punk band Descendents. Proceeds from the single will go to the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Written in the aftermath of the presidential election, “Who We Are” is a powerful protest song that lashes out against racist, sexist, and anti-immigrant attitudes. With its hopeful message of resistance, the track ultimately calls on listeners to fight fascism and “defend the rights of every woman and man.” “Who We Are” is available for purchase at iTunes and can be streamed at Spotify “Who We Are” arrives on the heels of Hypercaffium Spazzinate, the first Descendents album in 12 years and the band’s seventh studio effort since forming in 1978. Released last July, Hypercaffium Spazzinate was hailed as “a comeback album of blistering proportions” by The Line of Best Fit and “all kinetic energy from its first note to its very last” by The A.V. Club. The Guardian, meanwhile, praised Descendents’ “ability to switch seamlessly from bruising hardcore to sunbursts of pop melody.” Featuring bassist Karl Alvarez, vocalist Milo Aukerman, guitarist Stephen Egerton, and drummer Bill Stevenson, Descendents recently embarked on a headline tour of North America. The popularity contest with some dancing TV show...I Mean 'Dancing With The Stars' proves that "It's not JUST about the Dancing.".In what some are calling the “most shocking elimination in Dancing With the Stars history,” Heather Morris was sent home Monday night (April 24)… after receiving a perfect score from the judges. Following an injury, Maksim Chmerkovskiy rejoined Morris for a sizzling rumba set to TLC’s “Waterfalls,” where the pair dazzled the crowd and judges alike with a sensually-charged, stunning performance, earning them the first 40 out of 40 score of the season. Unfortunately, perfection wasn’t enough to save Morris who, by the end of the evening, found herself in risk of elimination alongside Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan and was ultimately booted off as the audience booed in disapproval. Ironically, many fans before the show started thought that Heather had an unfair advantage, because she use to be a professional dancer, and toured with Beyonce. But with Heather being voted off. It show's that its not about the moves, It's about how popular you are. How many smart kids who get straight A's in school are the most popular?!? Speaking with hosts Erin Andrews and Tom Bergeron afterwards, the Glee alum recalled her time on the show with, saying, “I’m okay, it’s a hard competition, and I’m really happy that I got to do what I got to do. It was really fun.” Beyoncé's Lemonade became the then-best-selling album of 2016 after moving 653,000 units in the U.S. during its first-week of release. KeKe Palmer and Migos’ Quavo, turn up on her recently released club banger.
On her newly released song “Wind Up,” the actress and singer strips away all the kiddie talk, which she’s done before but this time she sounds like a rapper. Quavo delivers a strong verse mixed with singing and rapping, before KeKe closes things out with the chorus On Monday (April 24) Katy Perry teased the upcoming release of her long-rumored fourth album track “Bon Appetit” (which she previously teased on Instagram and is rumored to feature Ariana Grande) with a newsletter heralding the “World’s Best Cherry Pie” recipe. But more than just a (legitimately functional and honestly delicious-sounding) recipe for the cherry-filled baked good, the newsletter seems to contain some potential lyrics from the sexy song itself: “This pie is gonna hit that sweet tooth, boy… / Calm those hungry eyes… / Bon appetit, baby!” See Katy’s sticky-sweet recipe below: Following confirmation by SM Entertainment of a forthcoming BoA album will be released this year, dongA confirms that BoA is releasing a digital single called “Spring Rain” on Friday, April 28 at 6 PM for SM’s second season of their STATION series. The song’s music video will be released on SMTOWN’s YouTube channel at the same time. According to the report, South Korean composer Kenzie crafted the PB R&B track, which features “sensual lyrics” about extreme emotions. Kenzie is a longtime BoA collaborator, having worked on everything from “Milky Way” for Atlantis Princess up to “I Kiss” and the title track from My Name to “Moto” and “Garden In The Air” from Girls on Top. |
