Courtney Love and daughter Frances Bean Cobain for are helping out the city of Seattle as they face a legal challenge over the graphic photos from Cobain's death scene.
According to The Blast, Richard Lee has long investigated the notion that Cobain did not kill himself and has avidly sought to have the death photos made public, going so far as to sue the city of Seattle in 2014 in an attempt to have the photos released. Love and Cobain have reportedly filed a response for the city in their legal battle in which they state they would suffer "substantial and irreparable damage" if the photos ever were released.
Lee lost his case in 2015, but filed an appeal last year, with Love and Cobain issuing their new response as a way of fighting the appeal. In the documents, it states that the release of the photos "would not only exacerbate the post-traumatic stress Frances Bean Cobain has suffered since childhood but physically endanger her and her her mother by encouraging more disturbed stalkers and fanatical threats."
In April 2016, Love filed a declaration accusing Lee of attempting to exploit Cobain's death, adding that Lee had stalked and harassed her family and friends for years. "Mr. Lee's actions make me fear for my safety," stated Love in the declaration.
Seattle police did release some photos of Cobain's shotgun back in 2016, and additional photos have turned up in the years prior.

Selena Gomez, 25, and The Weeknd, 27, have ended their 10 month relationship.
“She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship,” says an insider. “It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.”
While Gomez “always made an effort” to attend his shows when she could, “that played a part in them getting distant,” adds the insider. “It’s over for now, but they’re still in touch.”
The breakup also hasn’t been easy on the couple. “It’s been hard for them to come to the realization that this is the direction things were heading, but it’s been hard for months,” says the insider, who adds that Gomez is not back together with her ex Justin Bieber.
Gomez was spotted spending time with Bieber — whom she dated on-and-off from 2011 to 2015 — over the weekend. The duo attended church together and were photographed by TMZ grabbing breakfast at a café in Westlake Village, California, in late October.
It’s been a challenging year for Gomez, who revealed in September that the reason she quietly stepped back from her career over the summer was because she was recovering from a kidney transplant.
The Weeknd and Gomez first became linked in January, when they were spotted sharing a kiss while out on a romantic dinner date. A source told PEOPLE at the time that the budding romance was “new and nothing serious.”
However, in the months that followed, the two would flaunt their status as the picture-perfect couple. Gomez and Weeknd traveled to Italy together shortly after and even took a trip to the “Earned It” singer’s hometown of Toronto, Canada, in March.
After a series of sweet outings, the stars made their official debut as a couple at the Met Gala. And, most importantly, Weeknd received a stamp of approval from Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey.
The whirlwind romance showed no signs of slowing down, with a source previously telling PEOPLE, “They’re doing great together. Abel treats Selena really well and he makes her very happy.”
In May, Gomez explained why she had opted to make her relationship so public.
“It’s really hard when I would want to spend so much time hiding things,” she said in an interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest.
“It’s too much pressure, and I think everyone gets over everything eventually… I just want to be happy. If that’s me just being myself, then I don’t really care.”
Remy Ma is wasting no time after signing her new recording deal by teaming up with Lil Kim and going after Nicki Minaj.
Columbia Records exec Shawn Holiday signed Remy to a multi-million dollar deal, and Remy immediately started working with Kim and their track is called, "Wake Me Up."
Remy is aking shots at Nicki's relationship with Nas ... which, publicly at least, took off pretty quickly. We're told Remy and Kim shot a music video for the track last week in the Bronx.
Remy has a new manager too ... Vincent Herbert, who used to rep his now estranged wife, Tamar Braxton, before she filed for divorce.
Following the release of his new album, I Still Am, on Friday (Oct. 27), Yo Gotti has dropped visual for his song, "Betrayal."
"I just got a phone call, it got me rethinking shit/Homeboys and my enemies been on some linking shit/An OG big homie, sucker shit can't condone it/Catch a body, I'm on it/It's CMG, now who want it?" the Memphis rapper offers on the first verse.
The track is produced by London on the Track and Southside and is one of the standouts on the 13-track album. Gotti's new effort also features the hit “Rake It Up” featuring Nicki Minaj and boasts guest appearances from French Montana, 21 Savage, Meek Mill, Chris Brown, YFN Lucci and more.
After debuting online and in Sephora stores at the top of September, the cosmetic entity’s dividends were garnered in part by media revenue, which Newsweek describes as money made from social media promotion.
The makeup line includes 40 foundation shades, a lipgloss that the ANTI singer wanted to create for “all skin tones,” a highlighter as well as other contouring tools. In addition to this Fenty Beauty rollout, the 29-year-old recently debuted a holiday collection that’ll surely boost the revenue. Fenty Beauty also beat out other brands including NYX, Kylie Cosmetics, Urban Decay and more.
On Saturday (Oct. 28), Kodak Black dropped four new tracks.
The first one that caught our ears is “Down South,” a rap ballad where Kodak spits romantic lyrics to a distance lover over Lloyd and Ashanti 2004 song, "Southside.” The second is “Snap Shit,” a track that originally leaked online back in August 2016. On this newer version, Kodak spits a new second verse.
The third song is “Roll n Peace 2,” another love ballad, this time with Kodak spitting rhymes over Usher and Ludacris' “Lovers and Friends.” Finally, “Right Now” is your basic Kodak Black tune with the “Lockjaw” rapper delivering nonsensical rhymes.
Kodak will embark on a U.S. tour next month. "The Project Baby Tour" kicks off on Nov. 5 in Royal Oak, Mich., and wraps up on Dec. 22 in Boise, Idaho. You can peep Kodak Black's tour itinerary and his new songs below.

A Prince exhibit has opened at London’s O2 Arena.
Curated by Prince’s sister, Tyka Nelson, the “My Name Is Prince” exhibition features hundreds of items from the Purple One’s Paisley Park estate. "He lived to be on stage to entertain you... he lived his life for you,” said Tyka.
Among the items on display include clothing from the Purple Rain tour, as well as several of his guitars and instruments. There’s also lyric sheets and hundreds artifacts. In addition, there's a memorial wall where fans can leave letters.

Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' Achieves Diamond Certification, More Than 10 Million in Sales & Streams
Ed Sheeran's Grammy-winning hit love song "Thinking Out Loud" has officially reached Diamond status.
The 26-year-old singer took to Instagram Friday morning (Oct. 27) to announce that the x single -- which won the Grammy for best pop solo performance and the coveted song of the year at the 2016 awards -- has achieved sales and streams exceeding 10 million. Even more impressive, "Thinking Out Loud" becomes only the 15th song to reach that milestone since the Diamond certification was implemented by the RIAA 20 years ago.
"Thinking out loud is diamond in the US," the singer wrote in his post. "Thank you to everyone who streamed or downloaded it x."
Ironically, Sheeran's Diamond certification for "Thinking Out Loud" comes just one month after the singer officially released his ÷ love song "Perfect" as a single, a song which he's dubbed his favorite he's ever written and has been deemed even more romantic than "Thinking Out Loud." The song marks Sheeran's fourth official single from ÷, following "Castle on the Hill," "Galway Girl" and the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 "Shape of You," which is receiving early Grammy chatter for song of the year and record of the year.
Adding to the accolades, ÷ has been certified 2x platinum, continuing it's run as the biggest-selling album of the year so far. Album tracks have collectively amassed more than 3.2 billion Spotify streams, with "Shape of You" alone at more than 1.3 billion, making it the most-streamed song on the service. "Thinking Out Loud" is Sheeran's second most-streamed song on Spotify, with more than 963,000,000 listens.
The ballroom-dancing music video for "Thinking Out Loud" has more than 1.8 billion views on YouTube, coming second in views on Sheeran's channel to "Shape of You," which has 2.5 billion.
After wrapping up the American leg of his sold-out world tour, Sheeran recently fractured his right wrist and left elbow requiring him to postpone shows in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong. He has yet to update fans on when he'll be returning to the stage.

Taylor Swift debuted the music video for "...Ready For It?" early Friday morning, and it's already causing fans to take sides.
Although the video's director, Joseph Kahn, insists the video for Swift's second single off her upcoming album is an "homage to sci-fi and anime," others are pointing out its eerie similarities to "Ghost in the Shell," which is prompting the age-old discussion about Hollywood's continued whitewashing of traditionally Asian roles in the same year Scarlett Johansson was criticized for playing the part of Major Mira Killian. And many feel the video was full of cultural appropriation.
Most Swifties are happy with the video, saying the video signified Taylor freeing herself from society's expectations, but tons of others are pissed at the pop star.
