Meghan Trainor teased a brand new single on Instagram. Trainor, whose last album Thank You dropped in 2016, shared a pair of photos and a video that collectively pointed to the release of a track called “I’m a Lady” that’s due out Friday (February 24). Trainor told the team behind Kiis FM’s Jingle Ball in December 2016 that “I’m a Lady” — which will be featured on the Smurfs: The Lost Village soundtrack — is a “love yourself women anthem” that’s “pretty fire.”

We heard this before. Birdman said that Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter V album will be out in 2017. But he may be serious this time as he cosigned that promise in a recent interview. “You will get it this year,” he told Billboard after performing with Mannie Fresh during All-Star Weekend. “Me and Wayne will be alright. I’ma make that work. That’s my son, and I love him, and we’ll make it happen.” As most people know, Lil Wayne and Baby have been in a bitter legal battle over money. According to Wayne, Birdman owes him around $51 million dollars, and he said Cash Money refuses to release the next Carter project. In 2016, it looked like the pair squashed the beef when they were seen together on stage in LIV Nightclub in Miami, but the truce was short-lived. The veteran producer also talked about Wayne’s crazy work ethic. “He’s still Wayne,” he said. “He’s still hustling. Last time we got together in the studio, dude did six songs in one night, so I was like ‘Oh my God, you still the same dude.'” You can read Birdman and Fresh’s full interview here. Mila J (real name Jamila Aiko Aba Chilombo) AKA Jhené Aiko's Big Sister has released a new mixtape semi-self titled, Milaulongtime. Mila'sunique sound is often described as a cross between pop & hip hop, with a hint of R&B flavor.

Mila released several singles in 2006–2009 under the name “Mila J” and then went on a hiatus for a number of years following the shelving of her original debut studio album Split Personality before returning as “Japallonia” in 2012 and then going back to her Mila J persona. Redd Kross are returning to the road. Yesterday, they released club dates across North America for the spring. They broke the news on their Facebook page with an “OMFG!!!” Redd Kross will begin on April 15 at the Larimer Lounge in Denver and wrap it up at the Echo in their hometown of Los Angeles on May 16. You can see all the dates below and get full ticketing information at their website. Formed in the late ‘70s by brothers Jeff and Steve McDonald in Hawthorne, Calif., the home of the Beach Boys, Redd Kross fell in with the burgeoning L.A. hardcore scene, but were spiritually more aligned with late ‘60s bubblegum pop and ’70s and melodic hard rock bands like Cheap Trick and Kiss. After a few albums in the ‘80s, they had gained enough attention to sign with Atlantic. 1990’s Third Eye brought them their biggest success, with “Annie’s Gone” reaching No. 16 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart and slots opening up for Sonic Youth and the Posies. Unfortunately, mainstream success eluded them, and they broke up in 1997 following the tour for Show World. But they reunited nine years later and, in 2012, released Researching the Blues.
