Zayn Malik pulled a move from his duet collaborator Taylor Swift's playbook after clearing out his Instagram feed last night (April 7). In its place, Malik baited anxious fans with a video snippet extracted from a brand-new music project arriving "04.12.18," as captioned under the post.
In the 007-esque video above, the blonde-haired "Don't Matter" star muses pier-side with a briefcase before the clip harbinger words like "power," "greed," and "vengeance" flash on the screen. In other scenes, a nightclub brawl ensues after what looks to be a business deal gone awry and a philandering Malik finds himself caught in the turmoil. This is the first official music project of the year to be endorsed by the 25-year-old singer himself and given a promised release date. While nothing is certain, it's quite likely this cinematic surprise will appear on Malik's second LP, which has "been done" for months now. While Malik has been scarce on the particulars of a formal release date or the title of his sophomore follow-up, hit-making producer Timbaland referenced his involvement with Z2 after dropping a snippet of their collab on Instagram.
