In 2010, six-member boy band Teen Top arrived into the K-pop scene with their debut single “Clap,” unleashing a career that would see them become known for a slick brand of electro-dance pop. Though member L.Joe left the team last year, the group is still active in the Korean music industry, and the now-quintet released a special music video on Tuesday (July 3) for their new single “Lover” in commemoration of their eighth anniversary. “Lover” is a bright, tropical pop song that explodes with lush, wailing synths and dynamic harmonies. A bouncing rhythm and underlying strings guide the song to its falsetto pre-chorus that in turn becomes a chanting repetition of the Korean title, which translates to “The Relationship Between Us.” As a special song put out to celebrate their anniversary, “Lover” was released with a light-hearted music video that shows the five members hanging around with one another during a variety of behind-the scenes moments during photo shoots. They can be seen playing around and enjoying one another’s company while looking debonair in white suit ensembles and relaxed for the summer in brightly-hued casual outfits. Teen Top released their first album, Come into the World, on July 10, 2010. “Lover” fronts their Teen Top Story: 8pisode, an extended version of May’s Seoul Night EP.
