Selena Gomez has returned with new music in more than half a year on Thursday (May 10), releasing "Back to You," her new single off the 13 Reasons Why Season 2 soundtrack.
"I was really happy with Revival but at the same time I was terrified of doing another record, because for me it could [have been] a step down," she said in a recent interview. "I needed to beat that record and I think every artist kind of struggles with that. So I waited. I wanted it to be great and had I not waited a good year or two, I wouldn't have had the best songs I've ever had," Gomez added. Gomez's last single, "Wolves," was released in October 2017. Last summer, she dropped two songs which were believed to be off her new album: the Talking Heads-sampling "Bad Liar," and the hazy R&B track "Fetish." 13 Reasons Why, which was executive produced by Gomez, premieres on Netflix on Friday, May 18.
