Social distancing is the norm, and CHVRCHES is doing their part while recording a music video for their song "Forever," and the clip was released today (April 3). The video shows the group performing the airy tune in their respective home studios. Singer Lauren Mayberry said in a statement that they “wanted to find something fun to do with the song when we couldn’t all be in the same place, so Iain and Martin came up with the idea to record a stripped back, reinterpreted version." The track featured on CHVRCHES' 2018 album, Love Is Dead, was given a 2020 moment thanks to placements in shows like Netflix's popular Elite. “'Forever', in my mind, was always a sort of homage to the songs that were in John Hughes movies," Mayberry added. "Mostly I write lyrics from a more personal perspective but for this one I always imagined it soundtracking a Breakfast Club library dance type moment so it’s strange and cool that the song is now getting a second life because of a TV sync." BTS will be featured on JTBC for 5 weeks.
According to reports on April 3, TV network JTBC plan to air BTS content over the next 5 weeks. On April 16 at 11PM KST, the group's 'Bring the Soul: The Movie' documentary film will air, and starting from April 23, JTBC is airing 'Bring the Soul: Docu-Series' for 3 weeks straight. On May 14, BTS' concert film 'Love Yourself in Seoul' will air on the network. Justin Bieber releases his rustic video for the title track from his Changes album. Bieb's dropped the great outdoors "Nature Visual" for the song on Thursday (April 2), in which he strolls across a frozen lake in a giant brown coat covered with the word "Think" and warms his hands and strums an acoustic guitar around a fire; the clip was previously only available on Apple Music. His "nature" series has included rustic clips for "E.T.A.," "Habitual" and an earlier "Changes" one. Bieber revealed earlier this week that he has been forced to postpone his anticipated Changes tour due to the global health crisis. In the meantime, he's launched a series of twice-weekly EPs featuring songs from the new album with some extras. Watch the "Changes (Nature Visual)" clip below. Frank Ocean dropped two new surprise tracks, “Dear April” and “Cayendo,” which he first previewed last October during his first-ever PrEP+ club night in New York. Fans who ordered the songs on vinyl started receiving them last week, along with remixes by Justice and Sango, before they officially arrived at streaming services today (April 3). Frank hasn’t released new music since “In My Room” back in November. There were rumors that he planned to roll out a larger collection of music ahead of his Coachella set in April. He is now slated to headline the festival in October. You can stream both “Dear April” and “Cayendo” on Spotify and download them on iTunes now!
Nearly two months after Pop Smoke's death, his first posthumous track has been released.
On Thursday (April 2), Pop Smoke's new single, "How We Move," was released to all streaming platforms. This single comes after 50 Cent announced on Instagram on March 2 that he would be finishing Pop's album. "I'm on the move listening to Pop smoke, i decided i'm gonna executive produce and finish his album for him.#abcforlife #starzgettheapp #lecheminduroi #bransoncognac," 50 said on the social media post. In a separate Instagram post, the Grammy-nominated rapper reached out to recruit help from Post Malone, Roddy Ricch and Drake for Pop Smoke's posthumous release. 50 also claimed that the album would be ready to drop in May. On Feb. 7, 2020, a little over a week before Pop was shot and killed in Los Angeles, he released the second installment of his mixtape series, Meet the Woo 2. The 13-track EP includes features from Quavo, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Fivio Foreign and more. Listen to Pop Smoke's first posthumous single, 'How We Move," below. The judge just signed off on Tekashi 6ix9ine's request to get out to avoid infection from the coronavirus.
The judge agreed Thursday the rapper should be granted a compassionate release, effective immediately, from the NY facility where he's been held. Instead of serving the rest of his 2-year sentence behind bars ... he'll do it at home. Tekashi will be on supervised release. During his first 4 months of home incarceration, he'll have a GPS monitor and must remain at an address approved by his probation officer. According to the judge's order, he can only leave if he needs to seek necessary medical treatment or visit his attorney -- and he must get pre-approval from the probation department. If, for any reason, the GPS monitoring is not available or malfunctioning ... Tekashi must have a daily videoconference with his probation officer. So, he'll be like most of us ... suddenly using Zoom, Skype or FaceTime to stay connected. Tekashi's lawyers, Lance Lazzaro and Dawn Florio, were going back and forth filing motions to gain his release. At first, Judge Engelmayer denied 6ix9ine's request because he said he didn't technically have the power to release him. He directed the team to file a request with the Bureau of Prisons and said they were the ones who could bust him out early ... but then that department said they couldn't help him because Tekashi was in a private facility under the watch of the U.S. Marshals Service, instead of a BOP facility. As a result, the ball was back in Judge Engelmayer's court, and hizzoner just handed down the order releasing Tekashi to serve the remainder of his sentence in home confinement. BTW ... prosecutors said they had no objection to the compassionate release so long as the judge found there were Tekashi was supposed to be getting out later this summer after his conviction on racketeering charges last year. But, in light of the COVID-19 outbreak -- and preexisting conditions, he claims he is potentially high-risk in a prison setting -- 6ix9ine took the opportunity to ask to be sent home even earlier. K-Pop star Jaejoong, of the K-pop group JYJ, told his fans he was hospitalized for Coronavirus, as an April Fools prank. In a now-deleted post on Instagram to his nearly 2 million followers, the 34-year-old entertainer said he was “sorry to those who could have been infected because of me.” He added, “It was because I lived carelessly, disregarding all of the cautions provided by the government and those around me,” the New York Times reports. South Korea currently has 9,887 confirmed cases including 165 deaths. Fans expressed great concern when they read his original message. A short time later, he admitted it was a prank, saying, “So many people walk the streets and live their lives without their guards up, ignoring it… and thinking it won’t happen to them, and it makes me so worried that my family and friends might get sick.” “Staying on alert right now.. That is what I say to myself again and again. Although this did go quite far for April Fool’s Day, so many people worried about me in a short span of time,” he continued. “Oh… and I don’t think of this as an April Fool’s joke. My family and my friends are getting sick.. and dying.. It’s never!! just someone else’s problem. I wanted to tell you that protecting myself is protecting the precious people around us. I will accept all punishment I receive from this post. I hope all of you are healthy.” The admission that it was a prank caused a ton of backlash with his fans, calling him “insensitive.” Troye Sivan‘s “Take Yourself Home” is finally out, after teasing it for over a week! The 24-year-old not only unveiled the song, but a new lyric video as well. “‘Take Yourself Home’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written,” Troye said in a release. “The song is kind of a pep talk with yourself and the place you’re from. Grappling with your place in the world. I write these songs as a diary entry, then as life and places change and relationships change, songs can take on a new meaning entirely. Clearly that has happened for this song, with what is going on in the world right now.” Along with the new track, Troye has also launched three new t-shirts, with all proceeds to be donated to WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and Spotify’s COVID-19 Music Relief project. You can listen to the song now and shop the shirts at TroyeSivanShop.com! |
