Pink is back with "What About Us." The first single from the singer's upcoming seventh album, Beautiful Trauma (Oct. 13) was co-written by Pink, Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid and the track's producer, Steve Mac and it asks a variety of searching, urgent questions over an insistent beat.
"What about us?/ What about all the times you said you had the answers?/ What about us?/ What about all the broken happy ever afters?" she sings on the song's soaring chorus. With lyrics that could be interpreted as commenting on the state of the world, or the state of the heart, the second verse adds, "We are problems that want to be solved/ We are children that need to be loved/ We were willing, we came when you called/ But then you fooled us, enough is enough." Pink co-wrote all 13 songs on the album, working with a variety of songwriters and producers, including Jack Antonoff, Shellback, Max Martin, McDaid, Mac, Julia Michaels, Greg Kurstin, busbee and others.
