Rapper Logic is now the owner of a record label. Logic announced his new venture, Elysium, via a YouTube video uploaded Thursday night (June 29). "Elysium was created mainly because I don't trust anybody else with the precious cargo that is my family," he said of the artists on his roster. "I wanted to create a place where they can feel free and literally do whatever they want because this is so much more than just music." "So many people that support me are gonna support these artists," he added. Logic explained, "This is just another avenue. I wanted to create a label. A staple. I just knew in my heart that I wanted so much more than just to rap." He says he'll be assisting in the artists' creative process by writing and producing "as much as they'll have me." "I'm just a kid at heart with a dream who wanted to build a brand and a name for himself," he said. A website for Elysium has launched, giving more details about the group of artists on the team: Jessica Andrea (Logic's wife, a vocalist who's set to release her debut EP this summer), Big Lenbo, Damian L Hudson and John Lindahl. Logic recently earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with his Everybody album, released on May 5 through Visionary/Def Jam.
