There’s now a new member of Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation and he got his big break in South Korea.
On Friday (Jul. 21), Seattle-bred sensation Jay Park made the announcement: he’s officially part of Jay-Z’s musical family, which boasts the likes of Rihanna, Big Sean and Lil Wayne among many other superstar acts.
“We are excited to announce @JParkitrighthere has officially signed with #RocNation! Welcome to the #RocFam!!!,” the North American entertainment company wrote on Instagram.
Jay Park simultaneously broadcasted the news.
“This is a win for the Town This is a win for Korea This is a win for Asian Americans This is a win for the overlooked and underappreciated This is a win for genuine ppl who look out for their ppls This is a win for hard work and dedication This is a win for honesty and authenticity Thank you for the acknowledgement and recognition…just gettin’ started,” Jay wrote on Instagram.
The multi-talented Jay Park first rose to fame as a member of the JYP boy band 2PM before going it solo with a successful career in his own right, eventually branching into acting and dancing opportunities. Most recently, he released his latest solo studio album Everything You Wanted in 2016, as well as appearing on Far East Movement’s record, Identity.
