After releasing the album artwork for her forthcoming record hopeless fountain kingdom days ago, Halsey returns with the first release from her sophomore record: “Now Or Never”. Halsey recently released a song from the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack (“Not Afraid Anymore”), but she hasn’t actually released anything from her own records since last year’s “Castle,” which was featured on both her debut album Badlands and The Huntsman: Winter’s War. Halsey first previewed the song for an intimate group of 100 fans gathered in a London chapel in late February. “Now or Never” comes in the form of a short film directed by Sing J Lee and Halsey, which was shot in Mexico City. “The video for ‘Now Or Never’ (my directorial debut!) is one part in the center of a long narrative that tells the story of two people in love despite the forces trying to keep them apart. On its own the song is about two impatient young lovers, but in the context of the hopeless fountain kingdom universe, the stakes are much higher for these two star-crossed lovers,” she says of the video.
