L.A. pop-rock outfit Hey Violet is just a couple months removed from releasing its ultra-promising debut LP From the Outside. However, they’ll continue promoting it minus an original member; yesterday (Aug. 31), keyboardist-backing vocalist Miranda Miller announced she was leaving the band.
The split seems to be amicable, though it’ll undoubtedly cause some long faces as Hey Violet continues to perform behind its debut. “Life on the road is pretty grueling and if I’m being honest with myself, it’s not for me,” the 21-year old Miller said in her statement. Miller had been playing with Hey Violet vocalist Rena Lovelis and drummer Nia Lovelis for the better part of a decade, dating back to their time in the hard rock band Cherri Bomb. “This week, our dear friend Miranda told us she will be leaving Hey Violet,” the band said in its statement. “Though we are extremely sad to see her go, we fully support her decision to move on.” But Hey Violet isn't going anywhere. Promoting From the Outside and its current single “Hoodie,” it will continue to play radio shows for the rest of 2017 as a four-piece. The band, which also features guitarist Casey Moreta and bassist Iain Shipp, even mentioned its plans to “start working on new music” before too long. — HEY VIOLET (@HeyViolet) September 1, 2017
