Fall Out Boy Teams Up With BTS' RM For 'Champion' Remix

At midnight, Fall Out Boy shared a remix of “Champion” featuring new raps courtesy of BTS’ RM.

“Champion” was originally released as a single in June off of Fall Out Boy's Mania album, and was co-written by the band and Sia. Compared with the original soaring pop rock track, the remix offers up a grittier, hip-hop vibe thanks to a mellow tonal shift and RM’s evocative raps about the hardships of life. Like the original, the remix contains an inspirational, empowering message -- something Fall Out Boy and BTS both often incorporate into their music. "I'm just too young don't know what to believe in," RM says, "But too young, you know, not to be living.

The remix of “Champion” was announced on Thursday, with both BTS and Fall Out Boy confirming the collaboration on Twitter. RM later tweeted that it was "so great to work with" the American band. Following the news, the hashtag #RMxFallOutBoy trended worldwide for several hours on the social media platform.

Fall Out Boy is not the first American act BTS has worked with this year. Aside from the Korean group’s widely successful “Mic Drop (Remix)” by Steve Aoki and featuring Desiigner, 2017 also saw the septet work with Andrew Taggart of The Chainsmokers’ on the Love Yourself: Her track “Best of Me,” and RM collaborated with Wale on “Change” in March.
