A snitch...I mean a nurse at the hospital Demi Lovato was admitted to on Tuesday (July 24) claims that the singer "was using some type of methamphetamine in the time leading up to the incident," The Blast reports.
Sources told the publication that an incident report revealed that a nurse told police that Lovato had been using methin the days before she overdosed, though the manner in which she allegedly used the substance was not disclosed. However, Page Six reports that it's "unlikely that Lovato overdosed on meth...as Narcan, which was reportedly administered at the scene, is used for opioid overdoses, not for overdoses of stimulants." According to law enforcement, a friend revived Lovato on the scene prior to the arrival of emergency responders. Lovato is reportedly still recovering in a Los Angeles area hospital. TMZ reports that the incident took place sometime before noon PST on Tuesday, just hours after the pop star had been partying through the night with friends at her Hollywood Hills home. It's believed that most of Lovato's guests fled the residence once police were called following the overdose. On Tuesday evening, Lovato's rep, Nicole Perna, issued a statement on Lovato's status, saying, "Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now."
