On Friday (July 14), Billie Eilish released a new track called “COPYCAT,” as well as announced her highly anticipated debut EP, the delightfully-titled don’t smile at me.
Produced by Billie’s brother, Finneas O’Connell, don’t smile at me, which features “COPYCAT” as well as previously released single “Watch,” is due out August 11. Featuring a sinister, lurching hip hop beat and gloomy, ethereal vocals, “COPYCAT” is a call to arms against conformity. “It’s about when people do everything someone else does to the point that they are not even themselves anymore,” Billie explains in a press release. Following a mini-tour across Europe, the teenage alt-pop artist will also embark on her first North American tour this fall, hitting up major cities like New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. A pre-sale for fans begins on Wednesday, July 19, with general public tickets on sale Friday, July 2. Check out Billie’s North American tour dates, below: 10/4 – Constellation Room – Santa Ana, CA 10/5 – The Echo – Los Angeles, CA 10/7 – Rickshaw Stop – San Francisco, CA 10/9 – Holocene – Portland, OR 10/10 – The Crocodile – Back Bar – Seattle, WA 10/12 – Schubas Tavern – Chicago, IL 10/14 – The Drake – Toronto, ON 10/16 – Baby’s All Right – Brooklyn, NY 10/19 – Sonia – Cambridge, MA 10/20 – World Café Live – Upstairs – Philadelphia, PA 10/21 – Rock & Roll Hotel – Washington, DC
