Ariana Grande turned off her Instagram comments following the reported death of her ex-boyfriend, rapper Mac Miller.

Instagram users flocked to the pop star's page within an hour of the news of Miller's passing, flooding her with hateful, vile comments.

One user wrote, "You lowkey evil," while another claimed, "This is your fault!"

Since being forced to disable her comments, many have also voiced their support of the pop star on Twitter, expressing horror at the abuse, misogyny and blame being aimed at Grande.

The hate spread on Grande's Instagram account today is jarringly reminiscent of an incident that took place earlier this year on Twitter, in which a user blamed Grande for Miller's May car accident.

At the time, Grande defended herself and slammed the Twitter user's sexism, writing in a statement, "How absurd that you minimize female self-respect and self-worth by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship...I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be. I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety and prayed for his balance for years (and always will, of course)."

Miller and Grande broke up in May after nearly two years together.

The pair, who collaborated on Grande's 2013 hit "The Way," first made their relationship public in September 2016 in a photo shared to the Sweetener singer's Instagram page.

Grande has not yet publicly responded to Miller's passing.
