Lady Gaga shared on Twitter early this morning (September 18) that she’s canceled the European leg of her latest album’s tour for to deal with health issues that have left her with crippling physical pain.
The current show series, which kicked off in August, has taken a toll on the singer, she noted in her message, and it’s simply become too much to contend with. The European tour dates were slated to begin on September 21, but will be postponed until 2018. “I have always been honest about my physical and mental health struggles,” Gaga wrote. “It is complicated and difficult to explain, and we are trying to figure it out. As I get stronger and when I feel ready, I will tell my story in more depth, and plan to take this on strongly so I can not only raise awareness, but expand research for others who suffer as I do, so I can help make a difference.” “I use the word ‘suffer’ not for pity, or attention, and have been disappointed to see people online suggest that I’m being dramatic, making this up, or playing the victim to get out of touring,” she added. “If you knew me, you would know this couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m a fighter. I use the word suffer not only because trauma and chronic pain have changed my life, but because they are keeping me from living a normal life.” “I am looking forward to touring again soon, but I have to be with my doctors right now so I can be strong and perform for you all for the next 60 years or more. I love you so much,” she said. Hopefully Gaga will get well soon!

BTS finally dropped their LOVE YOURSELF: ‘Her’ album on September 18 alongside the music video for their title track, “DNA.” ‘LOVE YOURSELF’ consists of eleven new songs and skits with two hidden tracks in between. Listening to the album will have fans realize how mature the group’s music has grown with the lyrics and production. Exploring new genres such as EDM (peep the Chainsmokers co-produced track, “Best of Me”) and Synth Punk, BTS still stays true to the original sounds ARMYs fell for. While the album has made its way to the Billboard U.S. charts, “DNA” has already reached its 10 million view mark since its release 6 p.m. KST/5 a.m. EST today (September 18). According to a press release by BTS’ team, “the video visually represents the lyrics ‘the two of us are connected fatefully from the beginning, and we’re together from DNA,’ through the change of scenes and crossover between virtual reality and the universe.” LOVE YOURSELF: ‘Her’ is available now on Spotify and Apple Music while you can check out the “DNA” music video below. (Trust. You might want to check out the group’s epic choreography where they transition into forming a DNA strand.) Earlier this month, Martin Shkreli, who is currently in jail for putting a $5,000 bounty for a lock of Hillary Clinton’s hair, put the one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album up for sale on eBay. The rare Wu album, Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, was initially purchased by Shkreli in 2015 for a whopping $2 million.
Well, the bidding is over, and someone purchased the project for $1,025,100. There’s no word on who bought the album, but this is certainly a monumental purchase for the buyer. However, reps for the Wu-Tang Clan recently told Bloomberg that Shkreli may have paid $2 million for a fake Wu album. No one in the camp feels that Once Upon a Time in Shaolin is a legit project. The 31-song collection was overseen by the RZA and features production by Tarik “Cilvaringz” Azzougarh. Each song features verses from every member of the Wu, which reps now say wasn’t authorized. “It’s not an authorized Wu-Tang Clan album. It never was,” U-God’s manager Domingo Neris told Bloomberg. “We would never have authorized anyone to put together a project and call it a Wu-Tang Clan record without us ever looking at it, hearing it, or being in the same room together.” Method Man’s manager, James Ellis, adds, “When we did the verses, it was for a Cilvaringz album. How it became a Wu-Tang album from there? We have no knowledge of that.” Bloomberg reached out to Cilvaringz for a comment and he told them that the creative process was “too complex to explain in a soundbite” but that “all participating Wu-Tang artists were paid in advance while RZA and I bore the financial risk of the project.” Meanwhile, Shkreli responded in email with “hahahahahahahahahahahaha.” SEVENTEEN's official account posted a photo containing information for sub-unit projects.
Starting with the Leader unit on September 25, the Hip-Hop, Performance and Vocal teams will be dropping their own projects within a week of each other. If you caught SEVENTEEN on their recent Diamond Edge Tour, you got a taste of what’s to come from the sub-units as they performed alternatively in between group performances. SF9 will make its way to the states again just after recently appearing at KCON in LA and NY, with a three-date U.S. solo tour called 2017 SF9 Be My Fantasy In USA.
Organized by SubKulture Entertainment and SF9’s management, FNC Entertainment, the popular idol group will make stops in Dallas, Seattle and Boston during the month of November. Hopefully the band will find its way back to NY and LA but organizers and labels are doing their best to cater to fans outside of these metro areas. A biopic may be in the works highlighting the life and career of legendary boxer, Mike Tyson.
According to reports, Mike Tyson confirmed the news, as well as revealed that none other than Jamie Foxx has been recruited to take on the role of portraying the boxer. "It's on, as of right now," the former boxer shared with the Jasmine Brand. "Jamie Foxx has signed on for it. Filming hasn't started yet but it's going to happen. A lot of people aren't going to like the things I've done in my life." Tyson's comment likely alludes to his lifestyle choices getting him in legal trouble sporadically throughout the past two decades, such as back in 1992, when he was arrested and convicted of rape. Additionally, it has also been reported that Martin Scorsese has been tapped to direct. Foxx sparked rumors about the project back in 2013, commenting on his possible involvement with the film. While Foxx and Scorsese have yet to confirm Tyson's latest statement. Ed Sheeran is following suit with U2 and he just cancelled his show this weekend in St. Louis amid rising protests throughout the city.
The promotion company for Ed's tour put out a statement, saying his Sunday night concert at the Scottrade Center was nixed. They cited the same reason that U2 gave ... local law enforcement couldn't fully commit to providing a sufficient amount of police and other city services to protect concert goers. The company went on to say they plan on having Ed return to St. Louis at a later date in 2018, as his schedule allows. Ed's the 2nd major music act to cancel a show in St. Louis after violence has erupted from protests. The protests stem from the acquittal of a former police officer who was charged with first degree murder of a black motorist following a high speed chase in 2011. Cops and protesters have flooded the streets as a result. The Beastie Boys recently gave the approval for their track “Sabotage” to be used in an advertisement for the multiplayer first-shooter video game Destiny 2. You can check out the trailer above. Adam “MCA” Yauch from the transcendent hip-hop group used his will to make sure that their music wouldn’t be used in ways that would go against their interests before he passed away from cancer in 2012. “Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, in no event may my image or name or any music or any artistic property created by me be used for advertising purposes,” it states. In the past, Mike “Mike D” Diamond and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz have maintained Yauch’s wishes by taking legal action against the companies Monster Energy and GoldieBlox for use of the Beastie Boys’ music without permission. But now, as Adweek reported, both of them “watched the two-minute mix of cinematic action and winking humor and gave their blessing.” While in court for the trial against Monster Energy in 2014, Mike D stated through the New York Daily News, “We do not let our music get used in commercials for commercial products.” That same year, The Beastie Boys also turned down Arnold Schwarzenegger from using “Sabotage” in a trailer of a movie he starred in with the same name. Star Trek has been a notable exception when it comes to the group’s stance on the use of their music. “Sabotage” was also featured in 2009 in the first installment of J.J. Abrams’ reboot of the franchise and in the third installment, Star Trek Beyond, in 2016. The Fatboy Slim remix of “Body Movin” was used in the trailer for the series’ second installment, Star Trek Into Darkness, in 2013. Nov. 10 will be the release date for a 25th anniversary edition of R.E.M.‘s 1992 album Automatic for the People. Although it was reported back in April that the project was in the works, the band made the news official today in a press release. “I think it’s our most cohesive record,” said bassist Mike Mills. “It’s the strongest from first to last.” Singer Michael Stipe mused on the record’s overall themes of loss, adding, “Mortality is a theme that writers have chosen to work with throughout time. It speaks of the fragility and beauty of life and living life to the fullest in the present moment. It happens all too quickly and we all know that.” In addition to the original remastered record, there will also be a second disc featuring a benefit concert R.E.M. played for Alternative NRG – Greenpeace at the 40 Watt Club on Nov. 19, 1992, one of the few full shows they performed in the early ’90s. A third compact disc will consist of demos the band recorded for the album. The Blu-ray will contain surround mixes of the record, as well as the song “Photograph,” which was found on the Born to Choose benefit album, seven videos and the original electronic press kit. The 60-page book will be filled with unreleased photos by Anton Corbijn and Melodie McDaniel, as well as liner notes by Tom Doyle, who interviewed all four members of the band. They produced the above trailer, which combines interviews with footage of the band recording Automatic. R.E.M. also offered “Mike’s Pop Song,” one of those demos, for streaming or purchase via several services, which can be accessed here. You can pre-order Automatic for the People in several formats, including a two-CD set that has only the album and the concert, and on 180-gram vinyl. All pre-orders come with an immediate download of “Mike’s Pop Song.” Several merchandise bundles are also available. Full details can be found at the band’s web store. Live Nation and U2 say the St. Louis Police Department has informed them they're not in "position to provide the standard protection for the audience" that would normally be expected. The band goes on to say they didn't want to risk fans' safety by proceeding with the concert. The protests come following the acquittal of a former police officer who was charged with first degree murder of a black motorist following a high speed chase in 2011. Some demonstrators burned a U.S. flag and surrounded the mayor's home. |
