Chris Brown needs domestic violence prevention classes "again", and the judge in the Karrueche Tran case gave him a full year of it.
According to the court, Brown has to complete a 52-week batterer intervention program. The sentence was handed down after Karrueche testified in Thursday's restraining order hearing. As we reported, the judge also ruled Chris has to stay away from Karrueche for the next 5 years. He's no stranger to counseling sessions. After his Rihanna conviction, Chris had to attend domestic violence counseling -- and later, when he violated probation in that case, he was forced to attend anger management. UPDATE: Chris does NOT have to attend a year of counseling. The court tells us there was a clerical error in the documents. In November 2016, Lorde posted a Facebook update that read: "Writing Pure Heroine was my way of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record – well, this one is about what comes next. ...The party is about to start. I am about to show you the new world." Lorde revealed the title of the album on 2 March 2017. The album was recorded over an 18-month period with co-writer and co-producer Jack Antonoff. The album is about a "grapple with loneliness" in the aftermath of a break-up, according to the New York Times. In the article, Lorde mentions that "Melodrama wasn’t a 'breakup album" and stated that "it’s a record about being alone. The good parts and the bad parts, dealing with themes of heartbreak and solitude". CompositionLorde composed the songs on Melodrama in New Zealand. She described the album as addressing themes of heartbreak, solitude and loneliness, and also as a concept album, telling the story of a single house party. According to the New York Times article, the singer has a "neurological condition known as sound-to-color synesthesia", and devised color codes to each song. It is also noted Lorde wanted to explore a "cathartic mode" for the album. Lorde worked on the album in Jack Antonoff's home studio in New York City. Karrueche took the stand Thursday in her restraining order case against Chris, telling a judge after she broke up with him, he demanded diamond rings he bought for her to be returned. When she refused ... Karrueche says Chris became aggressive.
The judge just sided with Tran ordering the restraining order stay in place for the next 5 years. Chris Brown threatened violence against his ex-GF after they broke up, demanding she give back money and gifts he had given her during their relationship ... this according to Karrueche Tran's in-person testimony in court. Karrueche explained that in text messages between herself and Chris post-breakup, he would say things like "I'm not being nice to you no more, if I see you out in public again and I'm there I will make you hate me even more, don't be anywhere I'm out in public, I'm going to ban you from all events." She claims he also texted her more violent threats like ... "I can get my money back and I'm tired of playing games" as well as "Bitch I will beat the s**t out of you" and "I promise you I will make your life hell." She says he also once wrote "Imma kill blood" under a photo of her and actor Michael B. Jordan. Karrueche also testified that Chris had beaten her before. Chris Brown's attorney, David Gammill, grilled Karrueche on cross-examination, and pressed her on allegedly taunting Chris about the rings by saying she had sold them. Karrueche told Gammill she never planned to return the rings because they were hers. Gammill also brought up the point of Karrueche never reporting any of the alleged behavior to authorities. Karrueche insists she fears for her safety and needs permanent protection. Chris wasn't in court today and the judge refused to let him join the hearing via phone. John Singleton was once attached as the director of a movie about Tupac Shakur’s life. The Poetic Justice creator was eventually removed from the director’s chair, and Benny Boom was asked to take over the Pac project which is being released this week. Even though he admitted he had not seen the Boom-directed biopic, Singleton made it clear to The Breakfast Club in March he was not supporting All Eyez On Me. Boom and All Eyez producer L.T. Hutton stopped by The Breakfast Club for their own interview with the Power 105.1 morning show. The filmmakers responded to Singleton’s earlier statements. “We parted ways over creative differences and if I was to put those differences out there, the world would understand,” said Hutton. “To make it about you, that was the problem. This is not about you. It’s not my story. It’s Tupac’s story. It’s not about Benny Boom. It wasn’t about him. It is about Tupac.” According to Hutton and Boom, Pac was not on good terms with Singleton at the time of His death in 1996. The radio show conversation also included Hutton revealing Singleton’s version of the biopic was going to feature Pac being raped in jail. “There were a multitude of things that he wanted to do that just weren’t flattering to Tupac himself. It was almost like, ‘What are you doing?'” Hutton stated. “You knew what was going on, and now you want to defame the guy. Not on my watch.” Apparently, Singleton also wanted the movie to start with a false moment where Tupac attempts to perform anal sex on a white woman in the studio, she denies him, and then the scene ends with Pac telling the woman, “Go home and tell your dad you got f-cked by a n-gga today.” Hutton claims Singleton wanted the movie to have an excessive amount of sex scenes, and the white financial backers of the film did not approve of the content. Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur was supposedly depicted in a threesome as well. “Some people in Hollywood, we think they’re black, but they’re not black,” offered Hutton. “They like to be the only black person in the room because that makes them an authoritarian figure. They don’t like to be challenged.” Benny Boom’s All Eyez on Me is scheduled for release on June 16. The movie stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. (Tupac Shakur), Danai Gurira (Afeni Shakur), Kat Graham (Jada Pinkett), Jamal Woolard (The Notorious B.I.G), Dominic L. Santana (Suge Knight), Annie Ilonzeh (Kidada Jones), and Jamie Hector (Mutulu Shakur). Check out Benny and LT's interview below as the talk about telling Tupac's story the best way they can. |
