Jesse McCartney made his comeback to music this week with "Better With You." The 30-year-old singer-songwriter's freshest single arrives after a four-year hiatus, but his ease back into mainstream terrain is evidenced enough by McCartney's ability to make a hit record. Jesse recently stated in an interview that the track, which appears on his expected sixth album, was written with "a hopeful, uplifting message" but also "during a turbulent time socially and politically." "The world felt like it was unravelling," McCartney added. "I think it was a song that I thought everyone would want to hear and frankly I wanted to hear. So I wrote it."

P!nk are forced to cancel her upcoming Detroit date as well.

P!nk wrote on Twitter, referring to the show that was scheduled for March 25 at Little Caesars Arena. "I want to give you all the full show and not be hacking all the way through it and have to cut songs because of my voice." P!nk plans to reschedule her Montreal and Detroit concerts at a later time. A new cultural biography on Kendrick Lamar is on the way.
Pitchfork reports that Marcus J. Moore, who is a senior editor at Bandcamp will be writing the work titled, The Butterfly Effect: How Kendrick Lamar Ignited the Soul of Black America. The book will discuss K.Dot's “rise to rap superstardom" and will be available on Touchstone Books. While details about the specifics of the book haven't dropped yet, a Kendrick biography isn't that surprising given the success other books focusing on the lives of rap artists have had, including a recent one on Gucci Mane, The Autobiography of Gucci Mane. That biography will now reportedly be turned into a feature film. As for Kendrick, he's been touring as of late and is also set to do at least one festival date later this year. Most recently, he curated the Black Panther soundtrack, which debuted at #1 on the charts. "I think [Black Panther] is something that not only stands within its moment but stands within time," Kendrick told BBC Radio 1 last week. “We’re talking about timeless films and things that are going to curate after this film. When we got to the music, I just wanted to make sure that I could complement that and be a part of [it] in the best way I could.”
The Spice Girls are going to the movies!
Variety reports the onetime girl group — they of 1997's iconic Spice World — are working on an animated superhero film. According to the outlet's source, all five members will voice characters based on their stage personas — including Victoria Beckham (“Posh Spice”), Melanie Brown (“Scary Spice”), Emma Bunton (“Baby Spice”), Melanie Chisholm (“Sporty Spice”) and Geri Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”) — and feature a “girl power” unique to their personality. Currently, the project is being shopped around to potential production partners. The news comes on the heels of rumors that SG's will return to stage for an anniversary tour this summer. Mel B has all but confirmed with cryptic answers but it's still unclear if it will come to fruition. Beckham shut down the idea in an interview with Vogue only a few weeks prior, and it hasn't been terribly long since fans last saw them together: They last performed at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and before that during a 2007-2008 tour. "The Spice Girls are thinking big in terms of a franchise on a global scale," Variety's source said. "They’re the most successful girl group on the planet. It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs.”

Led by the tracks “Deadwood”, “Long As I Live” and the title song, "Sex & Cigarettes," Braxton's vocals are as sexy and silky as ever, with an undertone of longing and power that's come to define her sound. “Sex & Cigarettes is basically a song about the movement of infidelity, the slow walk of it and how your heart feels when you have to admit this is happening,” Toni says. The album's release comes on the heels of Toni Braxton finally admitting that she and Birdman are not only together, but engaged, flashing the huge rock Birdman bought her during a recent interview.
