After making history on the Billboard Hot 100, Cardi B unleashes “Bartier Cardi,” the long-awaited follow-up to her No. 1 hit “Bodak Yellow.” Featuring 21 Savage, the song is a celebration of the Bronx bombshell’s love of diamonds and fast cars. “Your bitch wanna party with Cardi,” she raps. “Bartier Cardi in a Rari, diamonds all over my body / Shining all over my body.” Bacardi’s full-length debut comes on the heels of two mixtapes: 2016’s Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 1 and 2017’s Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 2. Ever since “Bodak Yellow” made an impact, Cardi B has been fielding questions about her upcoming debut, which she has been vocal about doubting and second-guessing. “I got six, seven solid songs that I like,” she said in October. “But I wonder if a month from now, I’m going to change my mind. It’s not as fun to do music. My mind doesn’t flow as free ’cause I have so much on my mind.”

Lauryn Hill and her team hired a trombone player to record some songs and venture out on tour with her, but then fired him before ever paying him.
Lauryn, her touring manager and her touring company are being sued by Matthew Hartnett, who says he joined L-Boogie's team last summer for some live recording sessions. Apparently it went well, he says she offered him a touring gig through the fall. Hartnett claims he billed them an industry standard rate for the sessions, and signed a 10-week tour contract, but never got paid for either. He says he was fired before the tour started. According to the suit, Hartnett's entitled to at least half his touring contract and another $4k or so for his studio session fee. Hartnett is suing for $11,521.60, plus damages.
Liam Payne and Rita Ora lend their vocals to the Fifty Shades franchise.
On Thursday (December 21), Payne announced the pair's forthcoming collaboration, a song called "For You," on Twitter. He also teased a clip of the synth-laden track, due to release in January. Listen to a preview of the song, below:
However, Payne isn't the first One Direction star to work on a song for the hit film franchise: In early 2017, Zayn Malik and Taylor Swift teamed up for a song called "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" off the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack.
Co-written and co-produced by Jack Antonoff, the song is nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 2018 Grammy Awards. Meanwhile, Ora also has a special connection to the Fifty Shades franchise: In all three films, she stars as Mia, Christian Grey's friendly sister. Based on the best-selling erotic romance-drama novel series by E.L. James, Fifty Shades Freed will follow the lives of business mogul Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and book publishing editor Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) following their wedding. Fifty Shades Freed hits theaters February 9, 2018, just in times for Valentine's Day. Swedish House Mafia has wiped its Twitter account clean, spurring speculation that the group will reunite in 2018.
The rumors are further fueled by Steve Angello recently following Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso on Instagram, and the release of Ultra Music Festival's Miami 2018 lineup, which boasts Axwell & Ingrosso as a headliner for the 20th year anniversary edition. The festival's flyer also instructs fans to "expect the unexpected" and hints at "special anniversary performances." Swedish House Mafia played its final show at Ultra Miami in 2013. A reunion at the 20-year celebration has been rumored since they broke up, although so far there is no official word that Angello will be in Miami, let alone on stage with his former partners. Reunion rumors arose last December but did not come to fruition in 2017. Multiple sources close to the situation said that a reunion was in the works, but the group's longtime manager Amy Thomson categorically denied it via Twitter. After teasing a Marie Antoinette-inspired look yesterday, Katy Perry has just released her video for "Hey Hey Hey" on Wednesday. Perry posted a clip on her Instagram, with the caption: "After a year of peaks and valleys (remember, it's all a journey), I wanted to end 2017 with a fun, triumphant piece of pop candy. Just think of it as a glam little stocking stuffer from me to you. "Hey Hey Hey" is one of my favorite songs from "Witness" and for me, it embodies the fighting spirit I always want you to be able to find within yourself, and to see in me." The video features a dolled-up Perry, wearing a giant wig and going through the motions as an 18th century royal. She daydreams of being her own Joan of Arc and slaying the evil men in her life while the lyrics "You think that I am cracking, but you can't break me" echo in the background. Fresh off the release of Revival, Eminem has now teased the video for the lead single from the project, "Walk On Water." The song features Beyoncé, as the two reflect on the price of fame, and lament the time they spend wallowing in doubt and questioning their artistry and creativity in a world where social media reigns supreme. The teaser video features dozens of Marshalls trying to write a rhyme, playing on the lyric from the song: "Now take your best rhyme, outdo it, now do it a thousand times." It doesn't not, however, look as though Beyoncé will make an appearance in the video, at least from the glimpses the teaser provides. Meanwhile, it's rumored that Bey and Em will pair up again, in some capacity at least, at Coachella 2018. Speculation spread yesterday that they'll also be joined by The Weeknd as headliners for the festival next year. As for Eminem, as aforementioned, Revival is expected to be the no. 1 album in the country. The project, which dropped on Dec. 15, is expected to move to move 250,000 to 260,000 units (sale plus streaming) with 180,000 to 190,000 coming in pure album sales. The final tallies will be released on Dec. 25. The album is packed with interesting collaborations, namely from pop singers. Among the guests appearing on the LP are rising rapper Phresher, R&B sensation Kehlani, singer-pianist Alicia Keys, singer-songwriter Skylar Grey and pop superstars Pink and Ed Sheera Khalid announces a new partnership with Sony tech company's "Lost In Music" campaign series, set to launch in January 2018.
For the second installation of "Lost In Music," Sony will bring its virtual reality technologies to fans across the country. As part of the campaign, the Grammy-nominated singer will release a VR music video and deliver live music events in Los Angeles, starting with a two-day event at the LA Hangar Studios on January 19. "The media giant and Khalid will also take the VR experiences to the annual SXSW conference in Austin, TX on March 15 and 16, where Khalid will unveil his VR music video. Sony will also journey to New York throughout the campaign, debuting a "Lost In Music" video series in February." “I am so excited to be featured in Sony’s Lost in Music campaign for 2018. I can’t wait for the events in LA and Austin," Khalid tells Billboard. "It’s going to be so awesome to connect with my fans through an experience unlike anything I’ve done before. Plus, I get to show them an awesome new VR music video.” Khalid team-up with Sony comes a year after the company's inaugural "Lost In Music" launch in 2016 with The Chainsmokers, Vanic, and Lost Kings. Cardi B continues to make history on the Billboard music charts.
Migos’ song “MotorSport,” of which she appears on with Nicki Minaj, leapfrogged from No. 15 to No. 6 on the Hot 100 tally. This marks the first time a female rapper has earned three top 10 singles (within the calendar year). Let’s break it down: First it was “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” which was No. 1 on the Hot 100 for three weeks in a row. Then came G-Eazy’s “No Limit,” featuring A$AP Rocky and Cardi, which is currently at No. 10, and now “Motorsport.” Outside of the Hot 100 chart, "MotorSport" jumped from No. 9 to No. 5 on the Streaming Songs chart with 31.7 million U.S. streams, according to Nielsen Music. The song also sold 15,000 downloads last week sold, up 44 percent), as it moved from No. 37 to No. 34 on the Radio Songs chart. Cardi B passes two other female rappers who had two Hot 100 entries in the top 10. Lil Mama first achieved the feat with her 2007 debut hit "Lip Gloss" and her collaborative song "Shawty Get Loose," featuring Chris Brown and T-Pain. Iggy Azalea became the second female rapper to achieve the feat with her 2014 debut single "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, and with Ariana Grande's collabo single "Problem," which finished at No. 2 in the same year. Congrats to Cardi B—she's still making money moves. Rumors suggest that Beyonce, Eminem and The Weeknd will headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2018.
According to Consequence of Sound, "industry sources" claim that the trio of music stars will perform at the famed Indio, California music festival in April. The three artists have yet to confirm or deny the reports. An official performance lineup is expected to be released in January 2018. Beyonce was initially booked to perform at Coachella in 2017, but she postponed her appearance shortly after confirming her pregnancy back in February and was replaced by Lady Gaga. She previously made two surprise appearances at Coachella in 2010 and 2014. Eminem performed as a surprise guest alongside Dr. Dre in 2012, and The Weeknd has performed at the festival three times: in 2012, 2015 and as a special guest in 2017. Coachella 2018 will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio during the weekends of April 13-15 and April 20-22.
