Jussie Smollett is now suing the City of Chicago, claiming officials created a narrative that he was the mastermind of a hoax attack, and that has all but ruined his career.
In the lawsuit, Smollett notes the Osundairo brothers were held for 47 hours and they adamantly denied any involvement in the assault. He says it was only after they were assured they'd get immunity did they start spinning a tale of a fake attack on the streets of Chicago. Smollett insists the primary attacker was a white male. He says to this day he doesn't know what involvement, if any, the Osundairo brothers had in the attack. He thinks the brothers were coaxed into lying on Jussie Jussie is suing the City, the Osundairo brothers and several officials, including Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson.

Tomorrow X Together go on a journey throughout their 13 minute long short film for "Magic Island". “Magic Island” is off of the KPOP group’s latest album The Dream Chapter: Magic, which came out back in October. Before dropping the full music video, each member of the band released their own individual teasers. Taylor Swift has the green light from Big Machine Label Group and dick clark productions to perform old music from her Big Machine catalogue at the upcoming American Music Awards, where she'll be honored as Artist of the Decade.
In a statement to Billboard that does not mention Swift by name, the two companies said they have "come to terms on a licensing agreement that approves their artists’ performances to stream post show and for re-broadcast on mutually approved platforms. This includes the upcoming American Music Awards performances." The statement continues, "It should be noted that recording artists do not need label approval for live performances on television or any other live media. Record label approval is only needed for contracted artists' audio and visual recordings and in determining how those works are distributed." Last week, Swift penned a letter on social media claiming that Big Machine founder Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun, whose Ithaca Holdings acquired Big Machine (and Swift's entire six-album catalog with the label) in June, are blocking her planned performance of a medley of her earlier hits at the AMAs because "that would be re-recording my music before I'm allowed to next year." She added that the two execs were also preventing her from using Big Machine-era recordings in a forthcoming Netflix documentary. Swift also claimed Borchetta said that the projects would only be cleared if she agreed not to re-record her Big Machine catalogue next year. Both sides have been going back-and-forth since, with Big Machine maintaining that the company has not tried to prevent Swift's performance, and that her narrative "does not exist." Rather, Big Machine says the disagreement is over an unresolved payment issue between the two parties (Swift's team has disputed that claim, too). Read the full statement from Big Machine below. Hayley Kiyoko is back with her new track called “L.O.V.E. Me”. “’L.O.V.E. Me’ is a song I’ve been trying to write for years!! I’m very protective of my personal life but admittedly I’m a big romantic at heart. ‘L.O.V.E. Me’ captures what it feels like to fall head over heels and want to shout from the rooftops about it,” she says. Hayley adds, “It’s showcasing the classic struggle we sometimes face when someone tells you they love you in private, but is too scared to express that love publicly. I hope this song brings some relatability to anyone who is craving that declaration of love.” Taylor Swift's claim Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta from Big Machine are blocking her from performing her own songs at the AMAs is a complete lie, according to the record label, which thinks she made a calculated move to harm its people.
Big Machine says it was shocked to see Taylor's comments Thursday, and denies ever saying she could not perform at the awards show or blocking her Netflix special. It adds ... "In fact, we do not have the right to keep her from performing live anywhere." To be fair, Swift never said BM was keeping her from performing ... she specifically stated it was keeping her from performing her own songs, and using her own songs and performance footage in the Netflix documentary. Big Machine also claims Taylor's admitted to owing the company millions of dollars and it says it was optimistic the 2 sides were working toward resolving the issue ... but then she bailed. Instead, BM says "Taylor made a unilateral decision last night to enlist her fanbase in a calculated manner that greatly affects the safety of our employees and their families. The label adds ... "Taylor, the narrative you have created does not exist." Taylor's spokeswoman says "Big Machine is trying to deflect and make this about money by saying she owes them, but an independent, professional auditor has determined that Big Machine owes Taylor $7.9 million of unpaid royalties over several years." Despite Big Machine's denial, Swift's friend, Selena Gomez, has her back 100 percent. Selena says she's "sick and extremely angry" over the situation, and accuses the label of "greed, manipulation and power." Gomez says of BM ... "You've robbed and crushed one of our best song writers of our time an opportunity to celebrate all of her music with fans and the world." She goes on to praise Swift's character, talent and strength ... and says she knows Taylor will not stop fighting. Halsey echoes many of the same thoughts, accusing BM of making an awful business move and being mean and vindictive. She says the label is banking on people not sticking up for Taylor ... but says it's "barking up the wrong tree." Taylor's set to be honored at the upcoming AMAs as Artist of the Decade, but as you can tell -- it's about much more than that now.
