After connecting through Instagram earlier this month, Grimes has confirmed earlier this week that she’ll be working with K-pop girl group Loona on an upcoming single, “Love4eva.”
On Sunday, the Canadian artist tweeted that she’ll be lending her “dark chaos magic” to Loona’s next track. The group had previously teased the song, on social media, and announced it officially on May 19. "Grimes, You are Loona's goddess!" the group wrote on Twitter in response to Grimes' tweet. "It's an honor to work with you." “Love4eva” will appear on Loona yyxy’s Beauty & The Beat EP, which will be released on May 30. It notably was co-written by songwriting team E-Tribe, best known for Girls’ Generation’s breakout 2009 hit “Gee.” Grimes and Loona connected after the girl group DM-ed the soloist on Instagram; they asked Grimes to check her direct messages on an image she posted teasing upcoming music with Poppy. The new song will feature Loona’s yyxy unit, featuring members Chuu, Yves, Go Won, and Olivia Hye. It is the last sub-group ahead of the girl group’s impending formal debut as a 12-member act; since 2016, the act has released multiple singles and albums from members of its group in one of the longest lead-ups to a first album that the K-pop world has ever seen. “Love4eva” is the 17th single from the girl group, following solo tracks introducing each of the dozen singers as well as a handful of songs performed by groups of three or four members each. yyxy is the third unit, following ⅓ and Odd Eye Circle. The latter’s EP Mix & Match peaked at No. 10 on the World Albums chart last year. Loona shared a teaser video for “Love4eva” on Thursday, May 24, promising an upbeat electro-pop song.

Diplo and Mark Ronson's new duo Silk City just released its debut single, "It Can Only Get Better".
"Silk City is an homage to some of the greatest dance music cities; Chicago, London, Paris, Detroit," Diplo said. "Mark Ronson and I met as DJs 20 years ago, and our paths have taken us everywhere since. It is great to get back together and make music ... Our first song 'Only Can Get Better' is out tomorrow." "One Can Get Better" comes days after Silk City's surprise appearances in Los Angeles and aboard an art car at last weekend's EDC Las Vegas. The duo will make its official festival debut during Governor's Ball Festival in New York City, which goes down Friday to Sunday, June 1 to 3. Ronson confirmed that Silk City has a Dua Lipa collaborating coming "this summer." Nicki Minaj has been steadily teasing the release of her highly anticipated new album. Earlier in the year, she took a hiatus from social media to focus working on it and came back in the public eye to release two new singles, "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz." Since then, she announced her album Queen with a release date set for June 15th. Unfortunately for fans, that might not be the case as she just announced that she pushed back the release date for her long awaited project. Nicki Minaj teased fans with a special announcement over the past few days and earlier today, she hit Instagram Live for her fans. The rapper revealed that her new album, Queen won't be coming out on June 15th as previously announced. Instead, the project will be dropping on August 10th. She just confirmed the date on Twitter. However, instead of dropping the album on the 15th, she did reveal in the live stream that she'll be sharing three different surprises from June 11th to 15th, according to XXL. One of them is expected to be the cover art for the project. Despite the delay, Nicki insisted that she's making the project as perfect as possible for her fans while implying their could be some complications with her label as well as the beats on the project. Pusha T's much-anticipated new album is arriving Friday (May 25), and yesterday, he announced that it's been renamed. The album, formerly called King Push, is now called Daytona. As aforementioned, it's only seven songs long, and is produced entirely by Kanye West. Pusha talked about the project on Twitter, explaining why he changed the name. "I changed the album title from “King Push” to “DAYTONA” because I felt it didn’t represent the overall message of this body of work," the rapper wrote. “DAYTONA” represents the fact that I have the luxury of time. That luxury only comes when u have a skill set that your confident in." I changed the album title from “King Push” to “DAYTONA” because I felt it didn’t represent the overall message of this body of work. “DAYTONA” represents the fact that I have the luxury of time. That luxury only comes when u have a skill set that your confident in. I don’t have something to say to you everyday, nevertheless create a song abt, this music comes from a real place every time... This album is for my family...high taste level, luxury, drug raps fans. Literally this is nothing more than the outcome of our musical therapy sessions. There are two guest features on the album, one from Kanye titled "What Would Meek Do?" and another with Rick Ross, who should fit right in considering luxury drug rap is his jam. Check out the tracklist below. 1. If You Know You Know 2. The Games We Play 3. Hard Piano f. Rick Ross 4. Come Back Baby 5. Santeria 6. What Would Meek Do? f. Kanye West 7. Infrare Jennifer Lopez releases the uber extravagant "Dinero" video featuring Cardi B and DJ Khaled.! In the over the top video, Lopez is anything but a kept woman—she's a boss. She can barbecue, she can dance, she can gamble—and she does it better than anyone else. Throughout the video, there's prominent product placement—Jersey Mike's, Lyft, Mig Vapor, etc.—which is intentionally ironic. Because Lopez is in on the joke, and she's clearly having fun. The video is full of high-fashion moments, showing J.Lo in feathers, fedoras and furs. At one point, Lopez even wears a bedazzled jersey with her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez's number on it. Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato took to social media to announce the video for “Fall In Line". The glitchy montage features a series of black and white clips of baby Xtina and baby Demi playing and laughing. “Little girls, listen closely,” a hazy Aguilera says as the video ends. The duo first introduced the childhood memories theme when they teased the song back on May 15 before it dropped. Baby photos of the two pop icons appeared on Xtina’s Twitter, along with the lyrics, “Little girls, listen closely ‘cause no one told me but you deserve to know. That in this world you are not beholden. You do not owe them your body and your soul.” The pair also performed the song at the Billboard Music Awards on May 20. Zayn dropped the official track and music video for Entertainer on Wednesday (May 23). Zayn continues to tease his yet-unannounced sophomore follow-up to 2016’s Mind of Mine. The former One Direction member shared the Sia-featuring “Dusk Till Dawn” back in the fall and “Let Me” just last month. Now he’s back with another new single and video, this time called “Entertainer”. Lauryn Hill has expanded her Miseducation tour to Europe.

The four finalists – Spensha Baker from Team Blake, Britton Buchanan from Team Alicia, Brynn Cartelli from Team Kelly, and Kyla Jade from Team Blake – battled it out for votes last night before hitting the stage for a couple performances tonight. During the finale, entertainers including Jennifer Hudson, Halsey, Duo Lipa, and more also hit the stage for performances. The results were largely based on viewers’ votes, but singers received extra bonus points for showings on the iTunes Top 10 list. After a long two hour celebration we finally find out that the winner is! Brynn Cartelli TDE announced that SZA has been removed from the label's US tour due to swollen vocal cords.
Top Dawg released a statement on his socials explaining the situation, writing that SZA has been ordered "to rest her voice to prevent any permanent damage." "We've been monitoring her close and this is the reason she missed the Arizona and New Mexico dates," he continued. Top Dawg said the singer will visit a doctor to determine whether or not she'll be able to continue the tour and he and SZA are trying to find a way to make it up to the fans who didn't get a chance to see SZA. Should SZA make a full recovery, fans will still be able to catch her live in action for the remainder of the Championship Tour, as the TDE posse will make stops in Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia and Toronto before the tour ends in Pittsburgh. |
