The highly anticipated Aretha Franklin biopic RESPECT is set to debut on August 14, 2020. The film will follow the “Queen of Soul” from her humble beginnings as a singer in her father’s church to becoming one of the greatest voices of the 20th Century.
Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson will star as Franklin and was selected by her before she passed away last August. RESPECT is being written by former Nashvillecreator Callie Khouri and is being directed by Liesl Tommy. “The story of Aretha Franklin’s journey from child prodigy in Detroit to international supernova is rife with struggle and triumph, making her life one of the great American stories of all time,” Tommy said in a statement in January. “As a filmmaker there is no greater gift than to be able to bring this transcendent chronicle of a woman’s fight for self-realization to visual life with the enormous talents of the soulful Jennifer Hudson, Callie Khouri, and our incredible producers.”

Louis Tomlinson's teenage sister has died after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday at her studio apartment in London. Someone in the apartment called for an ambulance ... but after paramedics tried to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Félicité reportedly had absolutely no warning signs and they knew of no prior history of heart trouble. She did, however, suffer from sciatica. Back in January, Félicité posted on social media she had stopped drinking and stopped smoking cigarettes. Louis and Félicité were extremely close, regularly seeing each other when he was in London. Félicité was a fashion designer and had more than 1 million followers on Instagram. It's apparent from her Insta, she was heavy into fitness. She was planning to publish a book of her own poetry. She was one of 7 siblings; Louis is the oldest. Louis has just pulled out of a performance on a BBC charity show, Comic Relief. The show was scheduled to air Friday night, but Louis obviously had to back out. The One Direction singer lost his mother to cancer in December 2016 when she was only 43. He recently released a song called "Two of Us," about him and his mom. The lyrics include, "You'll never know how much I miss you/the day that they took you/I wish it was me instead." Lori Loughlin's daughters will NOT be returning to the University for fear of bullying.
It's reported that 19-year-old Olivia and 20-year-old Isabella have made the decision to withdraw from the University. Lori and Mossimo Giannulli, both of whom have been indicted in the college bribery scandal. The indictment claims Lori and Mossimo paid $500,000 to have their daughters designated as recruits for the crew team at USC ... despite the fact they did not actually participate in crew. Mossimo allegedly sent action photos of their daughters on rowing machines to Rick Singer, the ringleader of the alleged scam, and he presumably sent them on to USC. Sources close to the family say Olivia and Isabella never really wanted to go to USC, and that they liked the concept of school principally because of partying, but really had their sights set on Arizona State University. That's why Mossimo sent an email saying he wanted to get his daughters "into a school other than ASU!" Friends of Olivia say that she "is a mess, despondent and feeling like it's the end of the world." The sisters plan to "lay low" and not try and enroll in another school. Andrew Ridgeley from Wham! will release a memoir about his days in the band with late singer and childhood friend George Michael. Publisher Penguin Random House announced this week that Ridgeley's book will tell the "inside story of Wham!, his life-long friendship with George Michael and the formation of a band that changed the shape of the music scene in the early eighties."
The 320-page Wham! George & Me is due out on Oct. 3 and is available for pre-order now. "In 1975 Andrew took a shy new boy at school under his wing," reads the book's description. "They instantly hit it off and their boyhood escapades at Bushey Meads School built a bond that was never broken. The duo found themselves riding an astonishing rollercoaster of success, taking them all over the world. They made and broke iconic records, they were treated like gods, but they stayed true to their friendship and ultimately to themselves. It was a party that seemed as if it would never end. And then it did, in front of tens of thousands of tearful fans at Wembley Stadium in 1986."
The book promises to cover the duo's heyday all the way up to their final concert in front of 72,000 fans, including "the scrapes, the laughs, the relationships, the good and the bad." Ridgeley and Michael -- who died at 53 on Christmas Day in 2016 -- formed Wham! in 1981, with Michael taking on the lion's share of the musical heavy lifting in the group. The duo released their debut single a year later, "Wham Rap! (Enjoy What You Do)," later landing a string of indelible pop hits, including "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," "Careless Whisper," "Freedom" and "Last Christmas."' â Unlike Michael, who went on to a massive solo career, Ridgeley has kept a low profile since the group's split, releasing one poorly selling 1990 solo album, Son of Albert.
Following reports that actors Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman are among 40 people who have been charged in a $25 million college entrance exam cheating scheme, people have started harassing Lori’s daughter Olivia Jade on social media.
NBC News reports on Tuesday, March 12, that according to the indictment, which was opened in Boston, the scheme involved aiding prospective students with cheating on their college exams. The indictment also alleges that others were admitted to top-tier universities as recruited athletes, regardless of their athletic abilities. NBC News reports that schools involved in the indictment include Georgetown University, Stanford University, University of Southern California, University of Texas, UCLA, the University of San Diego, Yale, and more. Additionally, Good Morning America reports that documents show that Lori and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, Olivia Jade’s father, allegedly “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.” In most cases, the outlet also notes, officials said the students were unaware that their acceptance to these universities depended on these bribes. It’s uncertain whether Olivia and Lori’s other daughter, Isabella Rose, were among the individuals who did not know about the alleged bribes. Olivia Jade is currently a student at USC, after starting her freshman year in the fall of 2018 as a communications major. Her YouTube channel has nearly 2 million subscribers and she has more than 1.3 million followers on Instagram. Soon after news of the indictment broke, people swarmed Olivia Jade’s Instagram comments and accused her of being a cheater. Comments such as “u cheated to get into college?!” and “how’s it feel to be a cheater?” have flooded her posts. Again, it is undetermined if Olivia Jade knew about the alleged scheme. It’s not OK to fill her social media accounts with this sort of negativity, especially considering that nobody has been found guilty yet. Hopefully, as the news develops, we’ll have more clarity on what exactly transpired. Following the allegations regarding a cheating scheme involving several actors including Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman, USC has released a statement. "We are aware of the ongoing wide-ranging criminal investigation involving universities nationwide, including USC. USC has not been accused of any wrongdoing and will continue to cooperate fully with the government’s investigation. We understand that the government believes that illegal activity was carried out by individuals who went to great lengths to conceal their actions from the university. USC is conducting an internal investigation and will take employment actions as appropriate. USC is in the process of identifying any funds received by the university in connection with this alleged scheme. Additionally, the university is reviewing its admissions processes broadly to ensure that such actions do not occur going forward."
BREAKING BUZZ NEWS: Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin Indicted In College Admissions Bribery Case3/12/2019 Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin have been charged along with 48 others in a bribery scam involving top Ivy and State colleges.
Court records show the actresses and others allegedly paid hefty bribes -- as much as $6 MILLION -- to get their kids into various schools, including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and the University of Southern California. The charges include conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. We've learned Felicity has been arrested and is presently in custody. We're told she will be released on a signature bond ... which essentially is a promise to appear in court. The alleged scam was reportedly unearthed after authorities found a California businessman who ran an operation helping students get into the college of their choice. Authorities say parents would pay the man a predetermined amount which he would funnel to an SAT or ACT administrator or a college athletic coach. The feds say if the money went to a college coach ... the coach would arrange a fake profile that listed the student as an athlete. If the money went to an exam administrator, the administrator would either hire a proctor to take the SAT/ACT or correct the student's answers. As for Loughlin, she and her husband -- Mossimo Giannulli, the founder of Mossimo clothing -- allegedly paid $500,000 to have their 2 daughters designated as recruits for the crew team at USC ... despite the fact they did not actually participate in crew. However, the feds say Mossimo sent action photos of their daughters on rowing machines. Mossimo, who was also charged, took a cheap shot at one university. According to the indictment, he wrote an email saying he wanted to "make sure we have a roadmap for success as it relates to [our daughter] and getting her into a school other than ASU!" As for Huffman, she and her husband, William H. Macy, allegedly made a charitable contribution of $15,000 to participate in a college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of their eldest daughter. The indictment says the daughter was given twice the amount of time to take the SAT as other students and the paid proctor agreed to secretly correct her answers afterwards. The indictment says the girl received a score of 1420 on her SAT ... an improvement of approximately 400 points over her PSAT. Macy was not indicted. According to the docs, the FBI recorded phone calls in which Loughlin and Huffman talked about the scheme with a witness who was cooperating with authorities. The details in the federal indictment out of Boston states most of the kids admitted to the schools had no idea their parents allegedly greased the wheels to get them in.
