Rebecca Black is celebrating 10 years since the release of her song “Friday“! To commemorate the anniversary, she debuted a remix of the track, featuring Dorian Electra, Big Freedia and 3OH!3. “I’d had the idea to do this remix of Friday for years leading up to now but honestly it was also mildly insane for me to think anyone else would want to be a part of it,” she said in a statement. “As I started talking about it with other artists and producers I couldn’t believe how stoked people were about it. I am thrilled to have some of my favorite artists (and people) as a part of this moment – [producer] Dylan Brady, Dorian Electra, Big Freedia, 3OH!3.” “When they asked me to be on the remix I was like yasss! ‘Friday’ defined an era and changed the music industry! It was a fun project,” Big Freedia added. 3OH!3 shared, “It’s 10 years later now, it’s 3OH!3 on Friday. Sick of living through these Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays. But then Thursday comes along and we are sayin ‘Friday here comes f–kin Friday.” Watch interview below where she talks making of the iconic song, online bullies, and coming out queer!
