Producer Polow Da Don teams up with The Yrs for his new video"The Love Challenge," which brings a message of unity with peaceful images throughout the video "The concept came from watching the election, seeing what my people are going through and seeing how the media recklessly perpetuates hate in the lives of everyday people," Polow states in an interview with Billboard. "I’ve never seen the country be so passionate about being divided and my solution is for everyone to just stop. Do away with the media’s propaganda of right and wrong, put your views aside and just love. The video demonstrates that." The video illustrates people tearing apart signs that read "terrorist," "colored only" and "whites only," among other labels. For Polow, he hopes that these divisive phrases can, one day, wither away and become "powerless." In order for "The Love Challenge" to become effective, Polow advises that people follow these necessary steps to regain a loving attitude. "Firstly, its a new year and we have a new President. Let's hit the reset button as country, come with an open mind, open heart and put our views aside to support our Commander and Chief," says Polow. "But really "The Love Challenge" has nothing to do with Trump. I just used the name because I see it everywhere and to prove a point. He’s being used as a weapon for every coward to express hate and spotlight superficial differences of one another. He continues, "My goal is to reverse it — to show this negative platform as the very reason to love. 'The Love Challenge' is proving to your yourself that we have the power to make a change. Everything we don’t like we can end. We can end it all today and we can just love. I WANT US TO BE SO BUSY LOVIN' THAT HATE NEVER CROSSES OUR MIND.”
