The Foo Fighters announced that their ninth LP, Concrete and Gold, will come out on Sept. 15. They also unveiled dates for tour of the United States for the fall.
Concrete and Gold was produced by Greg Kurstin of the Bird and the Bee. Although Kurstin is known for his work with Adele, Pink and Sia, frontman Dave Grohl told Rolling Stone that it was all about having a different set of ideas than previous efforts. “I think maybe Greg is the guy that we ask to be our producer because he’s never made a heavy rock record before and we’ve never worked with a pop producer,” he said, adding that they created something that brought together “our noise and Greg’s big brain and all of his sophisticated arrangements and composition.” The band will kick off their North American tour at Cal Jam in San Bernadino, Calif. on Oct. 7. After opening the Anthem, a new club in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 12, they’ll head to Richmond, Va., and stay on the road through Dec. 12, when they’ll wrap it up in Salt Lake City. You can see the complete tour calendar below. Tickets for most shows will go on sale to the general public on July 29 (the lone exception is the Champaign, Ill., date on Nov. 8) at 10AM local time. However, pre-ordering Concrete and Gold and/or registering as a “verified fan” at their website allows access to pre-sales, provided you register before 7PM on Friday, June 23.
