Kesha took a moment to share a heartfelt message with her beloved Animals, where she thanked them for sticking by her side through the ups and downs—particularly her legal battle with Dr. Luke and the difficulties she’s faced in order to release new music—and for continuing to support her.
“merry everything and happy every day and thank you for not abandoning me while I fight the good fight,” she wrote. “I just want to make art. and let you hear it. that’s all I want for Christmas. and my New Years resolution is to finish my record and give it to you. thank you animals. love y’all.” The “True Colors” singer also took a moment to tease an exciting duet with an unnamed artist, which she said she prayed “one day y’all can hear.” “just got back a mix of me and someone singing a duet crying happy tears never in my life imagined this dream could ever actually come true…. please pray one day y’all can hear this music,” Kesha gushed, adding, “it’s the most vulnerable and honest I have ever been to myself and it’s literally documenting me growing up. I cannot wait and will forever fight for u to hear it.” Mega-Asshole businessman and part-time troll Martin Shkreli went on Periscope to claim that he’s the proud owner of Wayne’s in-demand album. In the clip above, the entrepreneur gloats at owning Tha Carter V album and plays music from the collection. “I have acquired, I would say, hip-hop’s most-sought-after album,” he revealed. “I’ve acquired hip-hop’s most exclusive [LP].” There’s no official confirmation that Shkreli does in fact own Tha Carter V. The pharmaceutical mogul didn’t reveal how he was able to obtain the LP or how much he paid for it. “Let’s just say this thing fell into my lap,” he teased. “But when you’re as handsome, good looking, smart, and wealthy as me, things just fall into your lap.” Keep in mind, this is the same guy who acquired Wu-Tang Clan’s one-of-one album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin for a reported $2 million. Also, he’s facing a federal indictment for conspiracy to commit securities fraud. Shkreli says that Weezy’s Carter V project is a double CD and that it’s going to make “Wu-Tang look irrel evant.” He shared a snippet of a track from this alleged LP, and boasted that it was about him. “Should I release it to the public?” Shkreli asked his Periscope viewers. “Birdman might kill me.” TMZ is now reporting that Wayne's camp is launching an investigation into this alleged leak of his album. Investigators will be looking into who passed along the LP to Shkreli since Birdman doesn’t have a copy of it. There’s also a possibility that Cash Money and/or Universal Music Group will slapped Shkreli with a major lawsuit. Ryan Adams has debuted “To Be Without You,” the second single from his upcoming Prisoner LP. Adams shared the single, which you can stream above, to Twitter followers with a note explaining that the Prisoner album — his 16th studio effort — “saved my life,” saying it “matters to me more than any record I ever made.” Of “To Be Without You” specifically, he added that it “broke my soul in a zillion pieces writing this.” Those comments are part of a lengthy Instagram post in which Adams describes himself as “broken” in the period leading up to Prisoner and insists, “My life depended on making it. I would have died inside if I hadn’t. … I know I had to write it and I know I have to sing these songs so I can live and keep living and breathing.” Describing the album as “a map for anybody who got lost like I get lost,” Adams continues, “It’s hope for anybody who’s forgotten what that is. These songs are part of me but they’re now part of anyone who needs them. Records should matter. They do when people need them most. This was my way through total f—ing darkness and things nobody can plan for. I’ll never come as close as this to that place. I won’t have to.”
Apparently, Not the Actual Events is just the tip of the iceberg for Nine Inch Nails. In a new interview, Trent Reznor said that he has a couple of projects lined up for the group in 2017.
Speaking to Zane Lowe of Apple Music (embedded below), he admitted that he was “teeing up the next quote” that he’ll “have to live up to,” he revealed that there are “two new major works” coming out next year. When pressed, he specified that they were both slated to be under the Nine Inch Nails “umbrella.” However, he said that live performances were “not in the immediate future, but we’re discussing it.” He elaborated on his decision to make Atticus Ross, his longtime collaborator on film scores, a full-fledged member of the band. “Really, it’s an acknowledgement of respect and importance…and it’s accurate.” Later, he added that bringing in Ross, who participated in the interview to a small extent, was not a slight to the other musicians with whom Reznor works in Nine Inch Nails, but rather that it was about Ross “sitting in the studio in the creative process of it. [Touring musicians] Alessandro [Cortini], Robin [Finck] Ilan [Rubin] are complete part of the family. They just — they aren’t the guys sitting next to me, elbow-to-elbow for a year at a time.” Nine Inch Nails released the Not the Actual Events EP today (Dec. 23), and you can stream it in its entirety here. It features contributions by Dave Grohl, Dave Navarro and Mariqueen Maandig, Reznor’s wife who sang in his side project, How to Destroy Angels. Last week, Reznor called the new release, “an unfriendly, fairly impenetrable record that we needed to make,” adding that it’s only five songs because it “ended up being the proper length to tell that story.” It’s been a long time coming, but the time is finally approaching. Fans of Big Sean have been dying to know what the status of his next album is, and earlier today, we finally got the news. The Detroit MC announced that his new album I Decided. is coming on February 3 of next year, and we’re already getting a taste of what we can expect. As he prepares for the release, Sean dropped a new leak, which is automatically gifted to fans when anyone pre-orders the project. The new song is titled, “Moves,” and shows off Sean’s confident side as he strives through life, all while getting the best girls that the world has to offer. The track is a follow-up to his latest song, “Bounce Back,” which hyped up his supporters for any future releases back in October. “Moves” is produced by Fuse of 808 Mafia, and depicts Sean back in his element of spitting authentic bars. It’s a bit reminiscent of his flow on “Paradise,” which became a fan favorite off of his Dark Sky Paradise album from 2015. While we await the album, Sean is making sure to tide us over with hints at what’s to come. Fans are also slowly, but surely, awaiting the follow up to his Twenty88 release with Jhené Aiko. Take a listen to the new track from Big Sean below. While everyone is gearing up to spend their holidays with friends, family, and loved ones, Nick Cannon will unfortunately be spending it with doctors and nurses. The 36-year-old television personality has reportedly been hospitalized due to complications with his lupus, which is a chronic autoimmune disease. Sharing the news through a photo on Instagram of him in the hospital, Cannon stated, “For all who have been trying to contact me the last few days this is where I’ve been. And I will be in the Hospital through Christmas.” He assured his followers, however, that he would be okay. “All good though, Doctors say I will be back to normal before the New Year. #LupusSucks #ncredible #warrior,” he added. This isn’t the first health complication for the Wild N’ Out host, as he has been dealing with a fair amount of struggles over the years. In 2012, Cannon suffered a mild kidney failure, which left him hospitalized for some time. He soon after discovered that he had blood clots in his lungs. Nick has been battling lupus for years, but only revealed the news to fans in 2012, which also led to him decreasing his work load in the entertainment industry. It’s been a difficult path for the host, but hopefully we can see him get back on track soon. In the meantime, keep Nick in your prayers. Lil Uzi Vert has had a huge 2016, and during his “Very Uzi Xmas” concert in Philadelphia last night, he capped the year with more big news—he’s signed to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang label. Wiz made the announcement when he hopped on stage with Uzi to perform “Pull Up” before giving Vert a Taylor Gang chain to make things official. Wiz later confirmed the news on Twitter. With the signing, Uzi joins Ty Dolla Sign, Juicy J, Chevy Woods and more on the label. The two already shared the same major label, Atlantic Records. Wiz recently celebrated another milestone, the 4th anniversary of his O.N.I.F.C. album, which led him to drop three previously unreleased tracks. As for Vert, he recently got into a bit of trouble for dirt bike riding, but the “Money Longer” rapper has nevertheless had a great 2016, and his news last night seems to be the proper cap for the year. TMZ reports that Houston rapper Paul Wall and Baby Bash have been arrested in a drug raid today (Dec. 23). According to law enforcement sources, officers executed a search warrant early Friday morning. Paul Wall and Baby Bash were there and subsequently arrested on the spot along with eight other people. According to court records, both Paul Wall and Baby Bash have been hit with felonies, though it’s unclear at this time what drugs were found during the raid. Both rappers were arrested for weed back in 2011 in El Paso, TX. Paul Wall is fresh off his latest release, Houston Oiler, which dropped in October. The 16-track project features fellow Houston veterans like Slim Thug, Lil Keke, J-Dawg, Chamillionaire and Z-Ro, who are all featured on the last record of the album “Swangin in the Rain.” No word yet on if Paul Wall or Baby Bash will be out in time for the holiday. Justin Bieber has been indicted by a judge in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The charges stem from an alleged incident back in November 2013, in which a photographer claimed that the “Sorry” singer ordered his bodyguards to beat him up. The man also alleges they then stole his money and photo gear. Bieber’s camp has not agreed with the photographer’s version of events, but if he returns to Argentina before the case is resolved, he will be arrested. Justin’s Purpose World Tour is set to hit South America in March and April of 2017, but he has no scheduled Argentina dates during that run. That’s likely no accident. TMZ reports that sources tell them Bieber’s lawyers plan to appeal the indictment, in hopes that the appeals court judges will decide the judge has it out for the pop star and toss the case. In October, Justin settled another paparazzo lawsuit stemming from an alleged 2014 scuffle in Miami, in which photographer Manuel Munoz said he was chased into a Subway sandwich shop by Justin’s security after snapping photos of Bieber leaving Miami’s SET Nightclub. According to Munoz, a security guard cornered him after leaving the shop and demanded the camera’s memory card. Bieber’s attorney Howard Weitzman called the suit “yet another shakedown for money.” |
