Robyn released her single, "Human Being" featuring another Swedish singer, Zhala, via Adult Swim's Singles Program. The catchy track will appear on Robyn's new album, Honey, set to release first thing Friday via Konichiwa/Interscope.
Adult Swim's website features the single's artwork, a trippy fox head, that effortlessly pairs with Robyn's vocals as she glides through lyrics like "There's no control/ All these emotions are out of date/ I know it's hard/ No peace of mind, but don't shut me out." Honey will be the first release in eight years for the 39-year-old synth pop star since her 2010 Body Talk record. The album will also include tracks like "Honey" and the album's opener, "Missing U," both released earlier this year. Idina Menzel and Josh Groban release the piano ballad "Lullaby" off the star-studded collaborative album Singing You Home.
Singing You Home, a bilingual children’s album focused on benefiting organizations that aid families separated at the border, is a project headed by Laura Benanti that counts on support from Broadway and music heavyweights. Lin-Manuel Miranda, Kristin Chenoweth and Ingrid Michaelson are among the many contributors, and the album features an array of children's music including a few traditional Spanish songs. The compilation is due out Friday (Oct. 26), with all proceeds going to RAICES and ASTEP. Listen to Idina Menzel and Josh Groban's "Lullaby" below. Vox Lux has just gotten its first official trailer. The Brady Corbet-directed movie, which stars Natalie Portman as a pop star, will be out on 12/7, getting good reviews when it debuted at the Venice Film Festival last month. VOX LUX begins in 1999 when teenage sisters Celeste (Raffey Cassidy) and Eleanor (Stacy Martin) survive a seismic, violent tragedy. The sisters compose and perform a song about their experience, making something lovely and cathartic out of catastrophe — while also catapulting Celeste to stardom. By 2017, the now 31-year-old Celeste (Natalie Portman) is mother to a teenage daughter of her own and struggling to navigate a career fraught with scandals when another act of terrifying violence demands her attention. The movie will feature original songs written by Sia and a score from Scott Walker, who also scored Corbet’s first feature The Childhood Of A Leader. Check it out below. |
