We’ve been talking a Luis Fonsi album ever since the release of the world-beating “Despacito” in early 2017. Now, the time is finally here: The man who gave us “Despacito” and “Echame la culpa” will release the full-length set Vida on Feb. 1. The album is already available for preorder in Japan and other Far East countries.
Predominantly in Spanish, it will feature the Fonsi mega hits we’ve been jamming to the past two years, plus signature tracks like album opener “Sola,” a mid-tempo, sultry R&B tinged jam over sparse arrangements that highlight Fonsi’s fine voice from the get-go. That's just one of side of Fonsi -- others on the album wil include up-tempo urban/pop fusions (à la “Despacito” and “Echame la culpa"), and for fans of Fonsi as the romantic Latin balladeer, tracks like “Le pido al cielo.” The Vida cover also shows an artist in evolution: a bearded Fonsi, displaying the tattoos on his bare neck and bicep.
