Wyclef Jean Announces 'The Carnival' Anniversary Show in NYC

​Wyclef Jean is set to embark on a tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his 1997 debut album The Carnival. On Wednesday (June 6), the former Fugee announced a special concert performance for the fans in New York City.

On Sept. 6, Wyclef and Hot 97 radio personality Funkmaster Flex will team up to perform The Carnival in its entirety at the Sony Hall venue in New York. "New York City Alert: in 1997 on the Carnival I said Mr Funk Master pump the Fugees and now in 2018 me and the funk master unite for a night of the Carnival," 'Clef wrote on his IG page.

Wyclef mentions Funkmaster Flex's name on "We Trying to Stay Alive," which was the first single from The Carnival album. The video, which takes place in a '70s discotheque, featured former Fugees member Lauryn Hill and Pras and newcomer John Forté.

There's no word if Funkmaster Flex is going to join Wyclef for the rest of his tour. "The Carnival" tour starts June 15 on Mt. Clemens, Michigan, and will wrap up on Sept. 7 in Washington, D.C.
