After being asked to work on the Queen & Slim film soundtrack, Vince Staples recruited 6LACK and Mereba for "Yo Love," which premiered as Zane Lowe's World Record on Monday (Nov. 11). "I seen the movie and I was like, 'Aw man, they shot the police, that’s crazy. I can get with this because it’s not real, it’s a movie. It’s a figment of imagination, we would never encourage anyone to uprise like that in real life because we don’t need that at this point in the world, right?" he told Beats 1 of the guitar-laced track's origin. "Boom, other things happened, there were more shootings, there was a Cadillac de Ville, there was a brothel, there was a lot of nature. I was like, 'Man, this is crazy, this is inspiring. I should call 6LACK' -- and that’s what happened." Queen & Slim: The Soundtrack releases in full on Friday before the movie starring Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith hits theaters Nov. 27. Look for contributions from Megan Thee Stallion, Lauryn Hill and Lil Baby on the soundtrack. Staples has kept busy with The Vince Staples Show, which saw the release of "So What?" and "Sheet Music" on the music front since his move to Motown Records earlier this year.
