The multi-talented beauty who was first introduced to the world in 2007 as MTV’s first Tanzanian VJ, now sits down with The New Music Buzz to discuss a blossoming film/tv career, her debut album Money Mondays and much more. On the brink of a breakout year when it comes to music and film, the budding actress talks securing her first role as Storm on season 5 of MTV’s Shuga set to air Mar. 8. Following in the footsteps of fellow East African superstar, Lupita Nyong’o who launched her film career season 1 on MTV:Shuga, Vanessa sums up her experience as “powerful,” after being given the opportunity to be a part of the critically acclaimed show that delves into prevalent social and societal issues impacting young adults on the continent. However, film projects aren’t the only thing the starlet has her sights set on. According to the self-proclaimed “Cash Madame,” she is hard at work finishing her debut album, Money Mondays which is slated to drop April 17’. When asked what we can expect from her first project, Vee Money makes it clear that she is a “cocktail of many cultures” and intends to make her first body of work a reflective blend of her upbringing drawing influences from Paris, New York, Nairobi Kenya, Arusha and more.
