Tove Lo’s latest single “Really don’t like u,” featuring Kylie Minogue, talks about how hard it is to have a good time when an ex shows up with another girl at a function. The groovy, synth-pop track violates girl code, as the two singers subdue the scornful subject and conclude, “I know I’ve got no right to/ Really, I just don’t like you.”
“Even though it’s now out, I still can’t believe Kylie is on ‘Really don’t like u,’” Tove Lo said in a press release about the Sunshine Kitty single. “Kylie and I met last year at an amFAR event in Hong Kong. When she said she wanted to work together, I made a serious mental note! I couldn’t be more thrilled and honored to have someone I love and respect so much on this track and part of Sunshine Kitty.” ADVERTISINGMinogue also shared a statement about their new collaborative single, saying, “It seemingly came out of nowhere, but when we met last year, we said it would be great to work together and with ‘Really don’t like u’ came the perfect moment. She has that amazing Swedish pop sensibility but her very own style and has carved out her own path within the music industry.” This is the fourth single from Tove Lo’s upcoming album Sunshine Kitty, which is due Sept. 20. She previously released “Glad He’s Gone,” “Bad as the Boys (feat. ALMA)” and “Jacques” with Jax Jones. Listen to “Really don’t like u” below.
