The Drax Project and Hailee Steinfeld Release Their New MV For ‘Woke Up Late’ Featuring Liza Koshy

Drax Project have teamed with singer and actress Hailee Steinfeld for their single “Woke Up Late."

The New Zealand quartet, who has opened for artists like Lorde and Camila Cabello, also dropped the lyric video for their latest single.

In an interview earlier this year DP gushed over having Hailee Steinfield on the track, “We’re all huge big fans of ‘Starving’ and ‘Let Me Go,’ so were beyond stoked to get Hailee on song! She absolutely kills it in movies and in music. We feel like having her vocals take both the sonics and the feel of the song to another level.”

The video was directed by Jonathan Singer-Vine and  produced by Colin Tilley.

The video follows lead singer Shaan Singh as he wakes up in an unfamiliar room, realizing that the girl he met the night before (Koshy) has forgotten her keys on the way to work.

“This was our first time shooting a video in LA and we couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work with. Liza Koshy is an absolute pleasure to be around and we were so grateful that she wanted to be a part of our video! Working with Colin was amazing too. He’s directed some of our favorite videos for some of our favorite artists, so to have the opportunity to work with him was incredible. Fingers crossed we’re able to work with him and his team again in the future!” the group said.

“I relate to it strongly (I may have been late to set that day) – but I legit jammed out to the song via Spotify Pop Rising playlist before knowing I would be involved! I LOVE the song, I blast it in the car because it just makes me feel good!” Liza added.
