After a long wait, SZA reportedly was supposed to release her debut project CTRL on Friday, but it
didn't happen. It looks like someone mispoke. A Jan. 23 interview with Billboard revealed that CTRL would be released on Feb. 3 (that reference has since been revised to “February”). “We never said that,” the rep told the music website. “If it doesn’t come directly from TDE then it isn’t official. [It’s] coming soon, very soon.” With no iTunes pre-order link, no Spotify page, no social media promotion or any mentioning of the album on SZA’s own Twitter account, fans are left wondering if the project will ever come out. Furthermore, fans have been threatening Terrence “Punch” Henderson, the President of Top Dawg Entertainment, on Twitter. Punch seems to be enjoying the vitriol aimed at him (peep the tweets below). Hopefully, we’ll get some more clues on when SZA’s CTRL will arrive in stores. In the meantime, you can listen to her sensual ballad, “Drew Barrymore,” here.
