Rich Homie Quan (Dequantes Lamar) was arrested on his way to a show in Georgia Saturday (May 27).
Quan’s car was stopped at a police checkpoint when the cops arrested the rapper and five others. Reportedly, the police suspected members of the group to be in possession of a stolen gun along with controlled substances, namely marijuana and ecstasy.
In February, Quan announced that he’d signed a deal with Motown and assured fans that album would be forthcoming this coming spring.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank God for this amazing opportunity,” said Quan in a press release. “I’m excited to be a part of a building that has such great history in music. I look forward to this new chapter in my life and giving my fans the best I have to offer.”
Quan was still being detained upon release of this report.
