A new album filled with unreleased tracks from Prince will be released in an exclusive partnership with Tidal.
Tidal, has with the Prince estate since 2015; TIDAL premiered Prince’s HITnRUN Phase One and Phase Two albums. The new project will stream exclusively on TIDAL for 14 days, and will be eligible for download a week after its debut. It’s still unknown what label will distribute the record but this album is different than the one that is slated to be released in September 2018. Reportedly, JAY-Z is working with Prince’s estate in selecting the tracks. “Our only goal is to share Prince’s music with his fans as he wanted,” JAY-Z said in a statement. “After thoughtful and honest conversation with him, he chose Tidal as his partner for ‘HITnRUN Phase One’ and ‘HITnRUN Phase Two,’ and we will continue to respect and honor Prince’s enduring legacy and wishes with this new collection.” “I’m very pleased this is resolved, and we get to honor the relationship between Prince and Tidal with this album,” he continued. “We look forward to fans hearing the new music and experiencing the genius of Prince.”
