Miguel's new album, War & Leisure has finally arrived.
The 12-track album is fairly scarce on features, with assists by Travis Scott on the previously released "Sky Walker," Rick Ross on the airy, bass heavy opener, "Criminal," J. Cole on "Come Through And Chill," which was also shared earlier, and Kali Uchis on "Caramelo Duro." Miguel has dropped a number of singles and videos leading up to the full release, including "Pineapple Skies" and "Told You So," which received video treatment early last month. In an interview with The Guardian, Miguel revealed that after going through a "down period" following the release of his 2015 album Wildheart, he ended up with a new project inspired by the current political climate and President Donald Trump. “You see us on the brink of nuclear war over Twitter,” he said. “Or the rise of the far right in Germany and France. So my whole mindset for the album is: what are we supposed to do caught in the middle of this? We’re at the brink of complete war and complete pleasure, at all times, every day.” Take a listen to War & Leisure below. Purchase it on iTunes here.
