Mega-Asshole businessman and part-time troll Martin Shkreli went on Periscope to claim that he’s the proud owner of Wayne’s in-demand album. In the clip above, the entrepreneur gloats at owning Tha Carter V album and plays music from the collection.
“I have acquired, I would say, hip-hop’s most-sought-after album,” he revealed. “I’ve acquired hip-hop’s most exclusive [LP].”
There’s no official confirmation that Shkreli does in fact own Tha Carter V. The pharmaceutical mogul didn’t reveal how he was able to obtain the LP or how much he paid for it. “Let’s just say this thing fell into my lap,” he teased. “But when you’re as handsome, good looking, smart, and wealthy as me, things just fall into your lap.”
Keep in mind, this is the same guy who acquired Wu-Tang Clan’s one-of-one album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin for a reported $2 million. Also, he’s facing a federal indictment for conspiracy to commit securities fraud.
Shkreli says that Weezy’s Carter V project is a double CD and that it’s going to make “Wu-Tang look irrel
evant.” He shared a snippet of a track from this alleged LP, and boasted that it was about him.
“Should I release it to the public?” Shkreli asked his Periscope viewers. “Birdman might kill me.”
TMZ is now reporting that Wayne's camp is launching an investigation into this alleged leak of his album.
Investigators will be looking into who passed along the LP to Shkreli since Birdman doesn’t have a copy of it. There’s also a possibility that Cash Money and/or Universal Music Group will slapped Shkreli with a major lawsuit.
