Kesha’s first single in almost four years was released Thursday and its video features the singer running through Salvation Mountain being chased by pig-headed men. The emotional song is called “Praying” and is off her new album “Rainbow,” which will be released August 11 and features a couple of songs with desert musicians The Eagles of Death Metal. In a personal essay published on LennyLetter.com, Kesha, who has had a very public legal battle against record producer Dr. Luke, whom she alleges sexually assaulted her, said the song is about finding peace and learning to let go. “This song is about coming to feel empathy for someone else even if they hurt you or scare you. It's a song about learning to be proud of the person you are even during low moments when you feel alone. It's also about hoping everyone, even someone who hurt you, can heal,” she wrote. In February 2016, she posted photos on Instagram of her at the colorful Salvation Mountain, which was created by Leonard Knight and is his tribute to God. Then, in June 2016, she took respite at L’Horizon Palm Springs, an adults only resort, with her boyfriend.
