A new trailer for director Woody Allen's latest slice of New York nostalgia, Wonder Wheel, features Justin Timberlake center stage in what is described as a "story of four characters whose lives intertwine amid the hustle and bustle of the Coney Island amusement park in the 1950s." Timberlake, last heard as Branch in the Trolls movie, plays Mickey, whose character description sounds like pretty on-the-nose: "a handsome young lifeguard who dreams of becoming a playwright." The first trailer for the film -- which will world premiere next week at the New York Film Festival -- also stars Kate Winslet at Ginny, an emotionally fragile former actress who falls for Timberlake's Mickey. In typical Allen fashion, things get complicated when Ginny's husband, down-on-his-luck carousel operator Humpty (James Belushi), has to deal with the chaos unleashed when his estranged daughter Carolina (Juno Temple) shows up needing a place to hide from some gangsters on her tail. The clip opens with Timberlake's voiceover, which introduces us to Carolina, whose arrival drives Humpty to drink again and throws everyone's lives into a tailspin when her mob-connected husband's henchmen descend on the boardwalk looking for her.
