James Arthur Announces Plans to Retire From Music 'After This Album'

Singer-songwriter James Arthur shocked fans on Friday (June 29) by announcing that he will be "retiring" following the release of his upcoming album, which does not yet have a release date. While Arthur doesn't directly say he's planning to retire from music specifically, fans are saddened over the idea of a retirement in any capacity.

Arthur was the winner of The X-Factor in 2012 and has since released two albums featuring the hit songs “Say You Won’t Let Go” and “Can I Be Him.”
