During a performance last night (Dec. 27) in Rio de Janerio, one of Iggy Azalea's backup dancers suffered a seizure on stage reportedly from the lights and heat on stage. Artist are often taught "No matter what the show must go on..." BUT, Azalea was later criticized for continuing to perform despite the urgency of the situation.
As a response, Azalea wrote a series of message on her IG story, revealing that the dancer is okay as well as her explaining her reasoning to continue her performance. Additionally, Azalea wrote somewhat of an ambiguous statement about her own mental state, stating that over the years she's been left exhausted by all the unfair criticism.
"Sometimes I really feel exhausted by the world," Azalea wrote in the post, "it feels like ANY thing I do becomes an opportunity for people to tell me why I'm s***, why my music sucks, my clothes are ugly, why I don't matter or why I'm a horrible person... I'm worn down."
Azalea finished her statement by expressing her desire for everyone to be more kind to one another, considering "how depressing it is" to see "people enjoy being awful to another."
