Green Day to Play Wrigley Field in Chicago for First Time

Earlier in the week, punk rock legends Green Day unveiled a lengthy summer tour, which will pick up four months after the band’s spring tour with Against Me! concludes. While most of the dates had been fleshed out, there were rumors they’d be adding a night at the famous Wrigley Field in Chicago, home of the Major League Baseball team the Cubs — and the rumors were true!

For the first time in their quarter-century plus career, Green Day will perform at Wrigley Field in support of their chart-topping Revolution Radio album. The event will be held on Aug. 24 with Catfish and the Bottlemen serving as the supporting act. Tickets will go no sale on Friday, Jan. 20 at 10AM CT and can be purchased through the band’s website.

As 2016 transitioned into 2017, Green Day performed a special New Year’s Eve set in Las Vegas, dubbed Green Day – Revolution Vegas, featuring a unique light show courtesy of Viva Vision. A trailer clip offered a glimpse at what fans could expect with a massive overhead, tunnel-like screen ready for a dazzling display while Green Day performed hits like “Bang Bang,” “Good Riddance” and “Holiday.”
