GOT7 continues to take the world by storm on their 2018 “Eyes on You” world tour!
On July 6, the group performed to a sold-out audience at the LA Forum for the first stop of the United States leg of their tour. When we arrived, we were quickly ushered to our seats, as with most K-pop shows. Showing up fashionably late is not an option, because they start on time. So we missed the first two songs. What many people don't know is that K-pop is a world phenomenon and that its popularity crosses all diversities, and it was not all teen girls, but many guys and older couples that were in attendance. In between sets, Aghases (GOT7's Fan Army), were entertained with either small talk amongst the group or with a video segment. The guys also took time to recognize that they were honored to be on a stage that "legends" performed on, and thanked everyone who made that possible. After a series of animated mini-movies (narrated by Jinyoung) about a painful breakup and eventual reconciliation, the guys had all of our attention on how’d they’d beg their lovers to take them back. The show continued the pace with some of the groups earlier releases “Stop stop it,” “Girls girls girls,” I think next it was “If You Do,” then followed by “My Body Is Reacting,” “She’s A Monster” and “Face.” Another pre-filmed segment was featured with them eating dinner on a roof-top and talking about the album and how grateful they are for Aghase support. After that the boys did a couple of more songs and then the encore, which was another concert in itself lasting close to an hour. It seemed like the guys didn't want to leave the stage and the fans were loving every min. We enjoyed ever second of the show and according to the guys, we will not have to wait "that long" for them to return. With precision choreography, a massive stage, and an awesome light show. GOT7 puts on a great show and they actually sing their songs! The day after the show, Jackson shared his thoughts on Instagram of the concert, writing in Korean, “LA! [Tonight] was truly a moment that I’ll never be able to forget. I still can’t believe that we were able to perform at The Forum in the United States.” He continued, “To all of you who have always stood by us and cheered us on, thank you so much for walking this path together with us. Of course there will be both good times and bad times along the way, but don’t worry. It’s fine. Just as we spend happy times together, we also stick by each other during the hard times.” “Yesterday was truly amazing,” he went on. “I want to say thank you one more time. Thank you.”
