Missy Elliott and Timbaland have crafted some of the most timeless, yet future-forward bangers. As a result, they've played an integral role in music -- and the culture at large -- heading into the new millennium. Much to the delight of fans, 2018 has another blessing in store: Missy and Timbaland have officially reunited once again.
After receiving a historic nomination for the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Missy must have felt a level of inspiration, revealing on Twitter that she is back in the studio with her trusty collaborator of over two decades. Last month, Missy shared with fans that she is finally ready to release new music after expressing that she has been struggling with self-doubt and hesitation. "For so long I was hesitant to put out music in fear no 1 would get it because people said music has changed & my sound been so different," she shared back in October. "But, NOW IM LIKE hey, bump it, make music that feels good to me, let me Get y'all asses dancing again."
As Missy slowly continues to share details about what she's been up to since stepping away from the spotlight (and her first tastes of new music), it's evident that anticipation for her imminent return is at an all-time high.
"Me & [Timbaland] last night in da stu...cooking," she wrote, sharing a brief video clip on Saturday (Nov. 10).
