Drake received a record 13 awards at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday (May 21) night. Drake was nominated for a whopping 22 BBMAs at the awards show.
Before the ceremony, Drizzy was already being awarded; during the broadcast, he won for Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album and Top Artist, among other major awards. In his acceptance speech, he thanked Ludacris and put to bed any notion of bad blood between himself and the Atlanta rap vet. “I wanna say Ludacris, I know we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but I’ve always been a big fan of yours, man,” he said. “I’ve got a love for you. I want to let you know that face to face while we’re still here.” Drake also performed “Gyalchester” in the Fountains of Bellagio. His big night broke Adele’s previous record set in 2012, when the superstar singer took home 12 trophies.
