At the beginning of the year, it was announced that Donald Glover had signed a new record deal with RCA for what's reported to be his last studio album. Unfortunately, the rapper is facing some legal troubles with his old record label over unpaid streaming royalties.
Donald Glover is being sued by Glassnote Entertainment Group over streaming services, TMZ reports. The label claims he screwed them out of loot that he's collected for streaming royalties. Apparently, it's a lot of money. They say Glover brought in more than $700K in streaming revenue and hasn't paid them a dime. Glassnote says they paid Donald Glover close to $8M and now, they expect him to cough up another $2M in royalty money within the next three months. They also claim Glover made a demand of $1.5M from them in order to resolve streaming royalty disputes. Glassnote released his first three albums including his critically acclaimed Awaken My Love! Despite his legal troubles with his former label, Glover seems to have some big plans in music this year. A few months a go, the rapper debuted two new songs on SNL including "This Is America."
