Discogs Announces Worldwide Crate Diggers Record Fair Tour

For collectors across the world, Discogs has quickly become the go-to online destination for all things music. Their catalog contains more than 8.7 million recordings from 5 million artists, the largest database of physical music on the planet.

Discogs is more than just a database, though, as it also connects buyers and sellers, helping fans find classic releases and scoring rare pieces of recorded history. Basically, Discogs has created a digital experience that comes awfully close to the beauty of flipping through stacks and stacks of wax at your favorite local record store.

Now, in 2017, Discogs takes that digital experience back to the physical world as they prepare for several Crate Diggers events all over the globe. The first Crate Diggers Record Fair and After Party is set for Aug. 26 at the White Owl Social Club in Portland, Ore., followed by five more fairs in major global cities — you can see the full schedule below. The best part about it all? The fairs are completely free and everyone is invited to attend.

Discogs uses the Crate Diggers series to bring together communities of music fans and collectors to share in the unique joy of hunting for records, all the while promoting the timeless culture of vinyl. At each fair, there will be several different vendors on site selling their discs, and there will even be live music from DJs at the events.
