BTS’s ‘Love Yourself: Answer’ Makes History As The First K-Pop Album To Reach One Year On The Billboard 200
BTS has seem to be present on the Billboard 200 with at least one title this year, if not more than one, as is the case this week. The band controls a pair of positions on the all-genre ranking of the most popular albums in the U.S., with one title returning to the list and making history by doing so.
Thanks to a surge in consumption, BTS’s 2018 release Love Yourself: Answer is back on the Billboard 200, and though it didn’t land in a particularly impressive position, it’s stamina and staying power is what’s truly impressive.
The set, which reenters the race at No. 165, has now spent 52 nonconsecuitve frames on the Billboard 200, something no other K-pop release has done before.
BTS’s Love Yourself: Answer originally stormed the Billboard 200 when it was first released in August of 2018 and claimed the throne immediately, becoming the group’s second leader on the tally. In the year (and then some) since it first found its way to the list, it has appeared on the chart almost every week, and even if it were to disappear next frame and never return, it has already left an impression and raised the bar once again.
